LOTRO Cheats - New BG Gauntlet Reset Bug : LOTRO - Exploits

Dunno if this has been mentioned before or not but:

There is a way to prevent the BG gauntlet from being reset if you are going to wipe on Durchest. It takes a bit of doing, but does work. Once the first couple of people die and all your rez's are gone and you know you cannot finish him this try, you need a melee person who has been dead for approx 10 seconds to release BUT you need to make sure there are no RK rocks down (the 10 seconds is to make sure any HOT put on him has timed out). Once the melee person releases and is out of combat, he then runs to the fountain in the room at the bottom of the stairs. You then wait until all members of the party die and durchest resets and then all members can release. Bingo, clear gauntlet up to the guards outside Durchests room.

I also saw this on the official forums. Was going to try it on our next run. We did have someone lag out outside as we were running in. when wiped the boss went through the gate and killed him too. By than though some of us were already running back and we didn't have to kill anything but the 2 shadow guys so I have some hope for this one.

True, but that explanation does not always work 100%. You have to make sure of specific things for it to work. I have been there over 10 times where we have gotten it to work.

If you got the 2 guys at the beginning, more than 2 hours had past and when those 2 are there the the whole guantlet HAS to be rerun. In doing HM we often try 3-4 times without it resetting before either getting it or having too much time pass and having to rerun the guantlet. It should be also noted that if the person that releases is in combat once they are up, then they have to drop and another person release before durchest resets or like percman mentioned, he'll run down and kill them. There is a buff Durchest gets that once he leaves his space he gets something like a +10000% buff... one of our guys had run halfway up and was in combat and got hit for over 180k.

It is rather specific in doing it, as 1) durchest cannot be reset and 2) the person releasing has to have been dead long enough to ensure any debuffs would wear off. Healers are a bad choice for this as if they release and have a hot on someone they will still be in combat. Hunter DF works the same way, the boss keeps you as a target.

The original 'idea' was on the lotro forum, but our raid leader figured out why it did and did not work, which I incorportated. How to take a picture of it though... once you know it is a wipe, all healing stops, you kite the boss till about 10 seconds have passed and one of the melee (prob the tank) releases. The key point is making sure the person who released is out of combat and getting them to the fountain at the bottom of the stair before Durchest resets, so the kiting is a must. I guess I could take a picture of where you have to be before he resets.
