Don't think they've announce it on the regular forums, but LOTRO is now in the beta phase.
Not sure when invites and promotional invites are going out though.
People who were invited in alpha 3 though don't get access until the 12th, so don't expect to get in before that. You may how ever recieve emails before that, not sure.

just beta atm... but that's still pretty big news. There's going to be a ton of new people with all the promo keys they gave out to various sites

It helps if you have a skill such as any form of coding, C++, C, C#, J#, torsoscript,actionscript, what ever... It helps them in a way because the beta testers can tell them any flaws that may be going on with the game.
