Go to 3rd post for guide broken into more maneagable parts

1-30
30-50
forochel 46-50
M0m 50-60

Only a few years too late (as 90% of _new_ players are just alts) but the 50 - 60 part may be relevant

took 40 minutes to download but is filled with pictures maps and quest links to mmodb

while not fool proof here is the results of virus total scan:

If the download is too long you can get the same basic effect of this guide by going to http://lotro.mmodb.com/ and using their great quest search tool http://lotro.mmodb.com/quests/search/

say you are level 15 do 5 searches two levels below, the same, and two levels above

when the search results come up sort by location to "rack 'em, stack 'em pack 'em" (stealing a line from Die Hard2) and do the quest by area to eliminate as much time consuming travel as possible

okay the uploader here worked the guide is broken into 4 sections

There is a lotro gold guide from this same website (RPG Tutor). They claim that a player will be able to make 7.5 gold per hour by using their gold guide.

Does anyone have any experience with the RPG Tutor Gold Guide?

Most of the gold guides I've seen for lotro have been auction house guides. The Killer Guides LOTRO Gold Guide is definitely an AH guide (it also discusses various crafting skills). I bought it. Is this any different?

No I don't have the guide but there is no way anyone can promise you such a high rate of return per hour

for background have played game 30 or so months, have every class (9) 51 to 56, have GMed all crafts have kindred in all 7 crafting guilds and am SM'ed in 6 out of 10 crafts in most cases you are lucky to get back 60-70% of just the cost of ingredients not counting time spent gathering materials

the last item that actually vendored for more than its cost was scholar made dyes and they nerfed that with book 7 or moria where each dye only returns 50 copper now

most of the old school ways to make money at the ah were not controllable by the player ie; it took a fortuitous drop to make money (I can hear Clint Eastwood saying "well you feel lucky, punk" :) because luck was what it was all about and I know one guy in particular who is blessed if there is a great item to be had in an instance that others are on there 50th try to get shazam he gets it first try on almost EVERYTHING we dont quite hate him but you know:) it gets annoying

anyway old school engraved beryl recipes fetched big bucks, books and pages used to fetch BIG bucks some still get ok bucks teal armour used to drop outside of instances, mostly in Sarnur or one spot in Angmar I personally saw this happen and promptly lost the roll to (you know)

old school say book 9 time frame they introduced bracelet recipes and I was lucky to put the second one up for sale and made 5 gold when paint recipes came out I read the forums every 15 minutes the thread saying where which was dropping and farmed the heck out of those spots and for 3 days cleaned up almost 20 gold the next week the same 2-3 gold recipes were at 50-100 silver, the window of opportunity had passed

when MoM came out with tons of new gear I was very surprised that the first postings of new recipes were only in the 200-500 silver range where peagreen paint or burgandy had sold for 2-3 gold when new now about the only really big items are first and second age weapons and if you peruse the main forums most think they would be more likely to be hit by lightning INDOORS than get a _good_ legendary with say 2 of 4 legacies to their liking let alone 4 out of 4...

you can make money but like that smith barney ad you pretty much have to do it the old fashion way -> gather materials and sell them

some crafters are making good coin but it really takes a lot of time to just gm metalsmithing let alone supreme master it or tailoring....

my friend made great money (on my suggestion) by switching from crafting heavy metal armour to medium and light hide armour since (at the time) rk's could only wear light and wardens could wear medium but not heavy

in the old day beryl shard farming could net you some good coin, now mithril flakes are still a good way to make money but are a very low drop rate....

this game really doesnt have any hacks dupes or exploits (they consider used range melee vs turtle an exploit, or blocking a door to seperate boss from minions an explot) so I would suggest not spending any real life $ for money making schemes

take the time to scroll through every page of the AH with paper and pen/cil and write down the big ticket items then see where they drop or what crafting level it takes to make them

The guide promised 30 day money back guarantee and I have been happy with their leveling guide, so I bought it. It actually is a kill guide. It tells where to kill to get the best drops for each level. The 7.5 gold per hour is their estimate of how much a player can make from grinding mobs around THE BRIDGE OF KHAZAD-DUM. They estimated 400 silver looted from mobs, plus 420 silver from selling vendor trash, plus about 7000 silver at the auction house from selling rep items that drop off of the deep claws and bats around THE BRIDGE OF KHAZAD-DUM.

have you tried it yet? Might go try that out tomorrow and see how well they drop...i've been buying all the rep items...would be nice to finally find a place where the drop rate is nice...7g from selling them on my server means 10 stacks of 100...so I doubt it'll work for me...

I'm sorry but isn't The Bridge of Khazad-dum (East Arch) in Nud-melek?

and you really need to be level 60 to comfortably solo farm there?

A make money guide that needs you to be at the highest level of the game kinda ignores the other 59 levels where you might have needed the cash

okay there are four items up at the Brandywine AH now for moria rep

Broken Engravings avg price 10 for 75 silver

Crystal Lamp Fragments 150 silver each

Cracked Etching 10 for 150 silver

Durin Figurine 750 silver

ah must be the durin figurine they are talking about but from:

http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=246765

quote->

Incidentally, the Chest of Chance is the only way to get that Durin Figurine rep item.

<-end of quote

not trying to be a nay sayer to the guide but just realistic if that is true and the one rep item thats worth anything is a random luck drop from the chest of chance which you get from a Sage after earning a Mark of Truimph for helping someone doing a moria epic quest ...

anyway since you would need to be 60 to do this grinding on lower rep dungeons Sarnur or the Bree dungeon might get good cash.....

the crystal lamp fragments to get 7 gold an hour you'd have to be able to kill 47 level what 55 to 60 mobs an hour and they would have to each drop one every time and maybe at the time of sale the avg price has dropped to 100 silver each and you need 23 more kills for 7 gold

then your just waiting to see if they sell, and they all won't sell in an hour.....

have you seen these two threads on how to make money at the main lotro forum?

They have gold making strategies for each level. I only posted one of them because it seemed to be the most questionable.

Their breakdown of AH prices on the normal loot from the bridge looked like this:

61x Broken Engraving - 915s
6x Crystal Lamp Fragment - 1980s
6x Cracked Etching - 150s
47x Extraordinary Hide - 2115s
1x Infused Adamant - 250s
6x Third Age Legendary items (level 55+) - 900s
6x Khuzdul Tablet - 1200s (you barter them for level 59 Third Age Legendary items)

I really doubt that a person can get 7g out of these, but perhaps it depends on which server they play on. On the other hand, most of us would be happy to get 2 or 3 gold per hour. :-)

most of us would be happy with 2-3 gold profit for a week which is doable and can be safely expected especially after you have bought your horse, books and pages

again to make money from beginning to end is: be an explorer, harvest every node wood and ore that you come across, always have 3 bags open for when you go out in the field, carry an extra mining pick to replace a broken one

if you have no quests or just want to top off a level or grind class skills kill humanoid mobs (includes skellies) for the more coin recipes gems and scholar items they drop

run instead of horse to save coin and to kill more hide bearing mobs, see more nodes

your guide is basically telling you the same thing kill mob a hoping for loot b at level c theres no tricks to this

for anyone buying a cheat once you get it immediately print the entire guide or save a copy or scan it into your system and return for refund, as soon as possible telling the owner it was useless your returning it within 12 hours of receipt etc, in 99.9% you will find there was not anything you probably didnt already know or could have found out yourself in 5 minutes by

going to mmodb

using their quest search for a level below, your level, and a level above
notice any kill mob quests or any rewards that have better gear than you have

see what zone you will be concentrating in, and check their bestairy for what mobs you will be fighting and if any drop any good items

concentrate on those mobs

=======

but circumstances differ I am very frugal living on a fixed disability income, if you have the wherewithal to buy every guide out there mazal tov and post them here

Will there be an update in the RPG Tutor - Lotro Guide? I have been wondering when this will come out and if you have the link + files for it ;)
