The final boss in Dark Delvings is still challenging for many groups. An easy way to do him is the following:
Make sure there is at least one Hunter in the group.
Let everyone stand at the door inside the room. Need to position properly, because the bridge will fall, so stay on the edge.
One player (preferably melee) should go inside to activate boss, Hunter(s) at the door should shoot him to get aggro. Bridge will fall, doors will close. Hunter(s) should be at the doorway, slightly inside. Melee person can die or leave instance.
Gurvand will go into antiexploit mode, BUT he will wake up from antiexploit to perform special attacks (with or without inductions).
When he is performing those attacks, he exits antiexploit for 1-2 seconds. Hunter(s) must damage him at that time. Watch his debuff "Bleeding Ears", and don't DPS him when he has absorption with reflect buff. There will be some AoE damage and some reflect, but captain can easily outheal that alone.
This method takes longer to kill Gurvand, but its makes the encounter very easy.

as someone who Did DD daily before mirkwood, i need to say that method is at best buggy, slow, and can still easily result in a total wipe. There is a MUCH easier and better way to do it, and you only need a burg/or someone to die.

Perhaps ill do the run and post some screenies for pple.

BOt sorry, i need to give this one a

/Nay

It is slow, true, but never experienced any buggy-ness with this method. One pull = one kill. And there is just no way to have a wipe, unless people are doing something terribly wrong. When done properly, the damage received occasionally can be easily outhealed by captain alone.

It not easy to explain without screenshots and getting a grp for DD is going to take me a few days.

Basically,

Step 1:

burg runs into instance, starts boss and pulls him to one of the LEFT stones. as soon as boss hits burg once, hit hips.

Step 2: grp enters room and goes to the right stone, and faces wall(you MUST have 1 ranged dps and one heavy healer)

Step 3: ranged DPS hunter/rk/lm and mini/rk press 'insert' and walk against the wall, stepping slowly towards the cliff face (side where door is) eventually ull fall off but there is a spot where u can walk into that is below the main platform but not falling to ur death. (thats the part a screenshot is needed for)

Step 4: a malee DPS, (probs burg) stands just inside heal range, healer puts a heal bleed on him and burg runs to boss, healer spams heals on rest of grp to get agro from all adds (who bug out)

step 5: Burg runs back for heals, Then goes back to boss, Using enrage will pull him down to the right stone, As soon as he is in range of DPS, hit him hard, VERY hard, he will then just stand there while u dps.

He will sometimes throw a hit out to random malee people, and adds will unbug if healer doesn't spam a few grp heals. But not many, maybe 2 a minute + any toppups needed.

Step 6: Jump out of notch, or fall down and take the short way back from the front door spawn.

Other than the burg, there is NO WAY for anyone to die, unless they do something silly like jump when they should be spamming attacks.

Note: its better to take the small hit from bleeding ears than try jump out of an attack in the groove, ull fall. its not like the healer is doing anything hard.

How is this "a MUCH easier and better way to do it"? My tactics just needs 3 people on boss, no heavy heals, straightforward exploiting.

I would advise you to make a new forum submission for this as it sounds very good and a better way. Hey who knows you may even get prem status :D

there is no way you can get to this boss with 3 people anyway.
Best i have done is 5, getting past 2nd boss is random and annoying if you short man the insatnce.

The reason i still say /nay to your way is you can hit him once every 2 minutes, thats 1000-2000 damage at best every 2 mins. Takes hour to take him down.

The way it should be done takes 4 minutes to kill him.
