Got to make this short as I've got some things to do.
I promised a few months back that I would make some bots for lotro (which I did... it was crappy though tbh) and now that lotroextreme is finally out of beta, I can't see no better time then now to start coding new bots... However what class would you guys like to see a bot for first?
Normally I'd add a poll but don't have time atm lol, so just put the class you want a bot for and a reason why (if you want).
Thanks

Well, it would really depend on the amount of functionality and resources we have available to us. Also, it would depend on the purpose of the bot (afk killing, or a helper bot).
Ideally, I'd much perfer a helper bot that runs on a second computer that follows you around doing its job when needed, be it for healing, melee, etc. It wouldn't be hard to allow for options to heal/fight and which hotkeys to press for certain skills, assuming we're able to retrieve when a certain skill is ready to be used or not.
To me, an afk bot is just asking to be banned. If that is the type of bot you're talking about, although I wouldn't be using it, I'd suggest thinking more of a general melee type instead of something that specific. Generally, most melee classes are only going to be using 3-4 skills, plus maybe a method of pulling. I dont know how timer friendly vbscript is, but I guess an infinite loop while in combat that checks the time against the user specified skill delay for each would work just as well, assuming we cant just query when a skill will be available next. Even for casters, a general melee bot should work pretty decent since the game treats skills and spells the same. About the only unique things I can think of would be concerning pets (LM/capt), and the ability to heal yourself/others (minstral, capt, lm). From a simple bot standpoint, all the other classes should be pretty much identical.

Just a quick update. I've decided to do a melee bot ( Guardian / Champion) seeing as thats where people mostly want a bot ( and they seem quite similar class wise so shouldnt be to hard to make a bot that fits both).
Some of you have heard of the bot by Kyo an I ( Vanguard paladin bot) and I'm striving to make my lotro bots like that one. However the basic version of lotro extreme appears to lack a few of the commands that there is in vanguard extreme. With that said, I hope I'll have a fairly bug free bot out next week... I know it's a bit long to wait but I also have a s*** load of school work to dela with atm .
Anyway, if you have any suggestions that you would like to see in this bot or in future bots ( like a mining bot etc.. ) feel free to post it in here.

Hey guys, a small update. My pc caught fire (literally -.-) and this is the first time I've been able to get on the net for quite a while. So yes, the bot I was working on has been lost. But don't be worried, altho there is a small downtime now, it shouldn't take too long to remake it ( I remember most of the code ), I only ask that you remain a bit more patient .

I have a modified version of the Melee Bot that was over on the Tault Forums... I have attached it here.
Basically it improves the looting and targeting of the existing Melee Bot.
Previously the other bot would not check to see if loot existed on the target and would still press "Enter" to "click" the Loot All button. This would cause the chat window to be opened, and all your future commands would be sent to the chat window.
I also added the ability to look around when trying to target a mob. This improves the ability to target mobs that are behind and at weird angles etc..
So far, I really only see the need to improve the pathing somewhat. It's fairly good as it is imo.
Also, this works good for ranged too. My brother uses it on his Minstrel and I use it on my burg. I don't see why it wouldn't work for any class tbh...
Really you should be able to run it indefinitely if you are in an area where you can't be killed
I've had it running for 3 hours before getting stuck behind some rocks..

So why did you post this? Do you want me to fix it up/edit it or just get inspired from it? lol I suggest you post it in the programs section if your confident that it works properly.

e3kmouse (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): I wasn't sure where to post it.. tbh. Here is a link to the original post... http://www.taultunleashed.com/phpbb2/ab ... e_Bot.html
No worries mate, although you need to keep in mind that in order to get points for bots you have to make a new thread for them. .
