This worked in D3, and works in POE.
If you have an item that requires 100 dex.. and it has +20 dex on it.. but say you only have 80 dex.. you cannot wear the item. HOWEVER, if you temporarily put on another item that has +20 dex.. to get to 100, then put on the item.. the +20 inherent dex will kick in, giving you 120.. so when you take off the temp item you are still with 100 dex and can wear it..
