Another trick,
after server down, put a scroll in your weapon, never brokes if you have 200+ PVP... the pvp is very important... (no PK..
)

Well ... this is a suspicion that I have:
you have to "level up" your weapon before enchanting it again
the 1500 soul shots : I have a Dark Avenger a Abyss Walker a Spellhowler and a SE as my main playing "dolls" on the official Hindemith server . My clan leader says that I am lucky... I don't think so : (
here is what I do: (have made and sold x3 +10 homukulus like this and did break 2 going from +5 to +6. Never oe a homukulu's sword. Always the dark screamer and then trade it for a Homukulu's)
buy dark screamers and make them +4 at once with no problem it's bang bang
never broke a single weap going to +4. now I get my Abyss Walker and go about leveling ( I do admit it: it's a pain ) after each level and never on the same day add +1 ( forget the : "inside the Temple or while your gf is giving you a bj". it dosen't matter) .
So from what he said: after 1500 sould shots... well I've recently started a SH and after making A grade I did try to get a SoM from my usual +4 to +5....
Still deeply hurts. Well, mind you that mages use blessed spirit shots. Then I should have used my SoM with either my DA or AW to hit mobs and, if I can say that, sort of "hardening" the weapon. I am not positive about his "1500 soul shots" idea because it could well be after 500 or 1000... or again after a good amount of using that weapon to hit mobs.
So trying to make sense of what I said:
remember that weapons made with bones are a no no
never do it on the same day and on the same Log in
work with that weapon for some time and add enchant after each level
use soul shots
don't try to oe a homukulu's sword
some facts that give me the creeps:
my DLE was gone while trying to +7 it
my Damascus was gone after trying to +8 it
my AOBA was gone after trying to +13 it (no, it was not friday)
broke many EMI bow trying to +6 +7
never broke any weapon at +4 period. Go ahead and try yourself.
The +4 thing never ever on the same day or the day after.... I do pick a day of the week and do it. So if you wish to oe 3x DS to +4 skip a day . I do skip a week. Above 4 bang that weapon against mobs for some painfull long time of grinding.
