They let me in the closed Beta!? What the heck are they thinking? I suppose they will just let anyone in.

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be much action here - and even thier Forums don't seem to provide too much data.

Anyone out there actually playing in the beta besides me? :-)

It's pretty good. I'm not sure it will attract me long term - I'm not big on the first person shooter experiance. From my limited experiance with First Person Shooters, this appears to be a cross between HALO and WoW. :-)

Maybe not - what do I know.

The emphasis seems to be on a first person shooter (FPS), with the MMORPG added on to it. I say that primarily due to the way they have implemented the UI - no MMORPG in it's right mind would consider the UI to be user friendly from an MMORPG perspective - but is seems to be relatively standard for FPS's.

That is to say, lot's of reliance on the keyboard. The mouse does relatively little for you - although you can "escape" out of the locked mouse and get a cursor to manipulate some things - you can't effectively play the game in the "escaped" mode. I personally don't like that.

On the other hand, the initial "boot camp" has been fun, the training missions (a.k.a - quests) have been intuitive and some were even challenging. I have every intention of playing through the closed beta and I've sorta enjoyed it - although it hasn't captured my imagination.

I would guess that many FPS fans, who like MMORPG's would be a lot more excited by it than myself.

On a more technical note, I'm intrigued with the question of how to best automate it. The UI would provide some good challenges. I've yet to find a way to "auto-target" an opponent - which makes for difficulty. You can lock on an opponent that you mouse-over. If I had 1/2 of Wyverrn's ability at Reverse Engineering I'd try some mem locs, but at the rate they are patching, that might be counter productive and you could spend more time searching for the locs than actually playing the game.

The play schedule is also very limited, basically you get Tue and Thu nights as well as weekends to play.
