I haven't played this game in a while.. But from what I remember.. the best stuff to bot was light blues.. Stuff that is ALMOST dark blue to you. Its even better if you have a bot that spoil/sweeps and you are a dwarf..

It is better to hunt monsters that are much weaker than you. You can kill them much faster and you have less down-time.
