Fix for Controller not working when switching windows!!!!!!! : FFXI General Discussions

Ok.. first off you need to get Azrials Windower program..

now you need these settings in Xunleashed.

Launch Patch: c:\(path to azrials windower program)\launch.bat

DXfile (hook1) pol.exe
DXfile (hook2) ffximain.dll

alternate hooking Checked
anti detection Checked
force redraw Checked
ignore directinput Checked


Ok, now that it's in.. press PLAY on xunleashed and Playonline Viewer should boot up..

Get to the screen where your right about to log into ffxi

Now click login.. ffxi loads up! but you will get NO GAME SCREEN, but you will hear the music playing in the background..

Hopfully you should Be at the game screen that says "Do you accept the rules of Conduct" if not, press the enter button to bypass the movie sequence and you should be there. Press right and enter to decline and log out of ffxi and back to pol.

you will return to the pol viewer now just click PLAY to go back into ffxi again!

and now you have azizals windower working with full controller support and the XU bar at the bottom, you can switch windows all you want and the controller will still work fine! I've been working at this for a while.. hope everyone else can get it to work fine..


So to bascially shorten all that up.. you login to the game, logout, then login again and it works.

Well, it works. Triggers work and stuff..

I think there might be a problem getting scripts to work.. I tried running a few scripts and it freezes ffxi

Do you think you could take a quick look at it wyvern when you get the chance?

I think the only problem is the script running.


I think azriel is coming out with a new windower that you can move around the screen anyways..

Mine doesnt work. It never gives me a game screen no matter how many times I go back in and out to FFXI. In the options I have the windowed mode in xunleashed turned off because I figured that azrial's windower would take care of that. Even when I turn windower on in Xunleashed I get a screen of FFXI in the lower right corner of my screen that I can only see part of.

Odd, it works everytime for me.. you should only have those things checked I have above.. still a problem getting scripts to run under it.. but triggers, winamp plugin and mapper plugin work fine..

I'm having the same problem. I cant get the game to appear regardless of how many times i go back and forth from POL to FFxi. I tried with windowed mode, and half of the game screen appears in the bottom right- hand corner.

Same problem here, partial game screen in bottom right hand of screen.

Hey but at least we can all sleep at night knowing that Marcuxs' windower works!!! ~.^ LOL

I don't know what to say.. I'm running the game at 640x480 custom res and it works in the upper left corner with the windower.. swear to god..
my desktop rest is at 1280x1024 it's in the upper left corner of my screen
i'll take screenshots if you guys want.. it's working for me.. odd it doesn't for you guys.. let me recheck the setting on everything..
I also have Use Random Filenames checked but that shouldn't matter right?

I have a radeon 9800 pro video card.
When I initaially click on Play the dosbox comes up and then loads the playonline viewer, and i do everything i said above..

Anyone else gotten this to work? If so please post.

Here goes.

Last night I started messing with some settings and such. Now I am no newb to botting services from the days of d2jsp. This is definately designed differently, but for obvious reasons.

At any rate, I needed to jack up my resolution to 1600x1200 in order to get my windowed game fully visible. It is in the bottom right corner.

I am about to try this with the 640x480 setting.

Secondly, I cannot select any scripts other than MouseDemo. Perhaps I missed something in there. I am just looking to use the fishing bot for now (XUFish) But I cannot select any scripts.

At somepoint it let me choose another script to run. But either/or The game freezes on me when I run MouseDemo or the getcolor script.

If anybody has aol instant messenger and could point me in the right direction, or post here, please PM me for aol / msn name.

When i log on and Press play it goes to full screen mode and then a microsoft error pops up and asks me if i want to send error. Therefore it will not let me log on to my character

uncheck the tcpip packet sniffer.

I'm having the problem that a few other people have mentioned having as well.

The problem is that when using the settings mentioned (and some experimentation of my own), the screen still does not display even on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or more tries. Prior to signing up for XUnleashed, I used this windower and fell in love with it. I'm hoping that either a future release of FFXi Windower or XUnleashed (maybe both?) will enable better interactivity with eachother.

This is annoying, I get the same problem as not being able to see the window after going back in, I can switch windows arround and still have controller control in FFXI and click away to my heart's content, I just can't see it.

Anyone have some more ideas on how to get it to display?

these programs weren't really made to work with each other. those for whom they do work are lucky. for the rest of us they will probably never work together without major reprogramming to make them compatible.

personally, i use azrial's windower for leveling and xunleashed for fishing. i don't do the two things at the same time so it works fairly well.
