Removing mob textures : FFXI General Discussions

I heard people do this to speed up NM Voke Bots that tab through everything so they wont see all the mobs in the area (thus wont target them), and will be much faster to target the NM when it pops.

Anyone know of an easy way to identify which textures are which (for instance Ancient Bat etc etc) and remove them in a way that the game will allow you to play still.

my guess would be the module viewer find the files with the pics and just remove them

I dont think FFXI will let you run the game with missing model textures...

well then replace it with nothing or something stupid like a image of a tree from module viewer just like they do for mog replacement and other such things

How would that prevent targetng them?
Anyway, I suspect they modify incoming packets or simply modify the monster array.
