Waders and Fishing Apron : FFXI General Discussions

The Key to getting the waders and fishing aprons is all in the dark bass.

Once you get to level 28, start amassing guild points like mad by hading in the max amount of Dark Bass per day. This is because Dark bass is only around 1000 per 12, and are easily fished up in Bastox Markets using a worm lure and a mithran rod. After getting 170,000 guild points, proceed to lvl up your fishing skill till you reach journeyman status and buy the waders (fishing skill +2) and apron (Rusty Items -1)


Using this method I was able to aquire the apron and waders in under a month. I also suggest doing this ASAP because people are getting wise to the Dark Bass strategy and the price is steadily rising already.

Dark Bass can also be fished up near Windwurst in the West Saruta lake. (probably at a higher rate because there isnt Black eels to compete with the dark bass for the worm lure)

At lv28 the guild only take in dark bass? Don't the fish change every 24 game day? If it stays dark bass forever then that'll be easy =/.

You can't just turn in Dark Bass all the time. Every 24 hours, real-time, the fishing guild requires a different fish to be turned in. To be quite honest, you're lucky if you can turn in Dark Bass more than once a week. Statistically speaking, you'll only have one day a month that Dark Bass is an acceptable trade-in.

Good idea, though. Just not a stable source.

Yep, I never once had dark bass as a fish-o-the-day...but I do have 80+ skill.

Anyone knows how I can change contract from fishing to another guild? Does I have to wait certain time before I can do so? I joined the fishing guild but now I want to sign contract with cooking instead. But when I went to the cooking taru with the apron he just said some NPC junk, no option for me to switch. And I went back to the fishing lady and she gave me the usual option to turn in stuff, buy stuff with GP, etc, nothing about leaving.

It says I can change anytime with the "how does it work" option... It just doesn't say how and when you can do so

Sky, the only way you'll be able to get guild points from any guild is to:
1) Join it
2) Level up to the Novice rank
3) Craft each item that is asked
