Mouse click method, may not break EULA : EverQuest 2 Submissions

I'm posting this here, but it works with any game. There is no way for a game to stop this from working as it is external to the PC.

This is a simple hardware solution that probably doesn't break the EULA of most games. It does require some very basic electronic skill (very basic).

1. Parts List
a. Buy the cheapest USB mouse you can find. I picked up a basic laser brand for $3
b. Either uses an old power supply you have around the house or purchase one. I'd recommend something around 9V AND MUST BE DC, but the circuit is quite flexible. I used and old phone recharger. You should be able to pick up something from an electronic hobby shop or the like for $10. It will only be operating a relay, so 100ma is more then enough.
c. 5V Flashing LED ($0.20)
d. small 5V reed relay with a current draw of around 20 ma ($2.00)
e. on/off switch
f. soldering iron, small amount of solder.

Total cost $3-$15

2. Open up the mouse and look for the mouse button you wish have repetitively clicked. Turn over the circuit board and you will see two solder points. Attach a short wire from each to the normally open contact points on the relay.

3. Attach the positive wire from the power supply to the LONG leg of the LED. Attach the short leg of the LED to the one of the 2 coil contacts on the relay. Attach the negative wire of the power supply to the switch and then the switch to the other relay coil contact.

4. Tidy it up; maybe put it in a box.

You now have an external mouse clicker that will work with any game. You can use Microsoft’s intellipont soft ware to turn it into a double click if you wish :) (I did, and used it to automate SWG crafting with the right in game macro)

It takes around 20 minutes to set up and get working. If the very thought of using a soldering iron frightens you, then find that socially retarded but very useful person that every family has, who has the skills to create. It will be very simple for him, as it is just join the wires.

Uses...
EQ move the mouse over the hotkey, turn on and walk away.
Auto forage Social
/doability 1
/autoinventry

Spell skill up
/pause 100,/cast 1

Faction
/pause 10,/tar a (every mob starts with a)
/cast 1 (where one is a nuke large enough to insta kill)

Auto Nuke as an extra damage bot
/assist tank
/pause 50 (5 seconds should be enough to let him get and maintain agro. If not increase)
/cast 1 (Big Nuke)

EQ2
When Crafting did you notice that the repeat and begin buttons are in the same location? Hover the mouse over them, turn it on and walk away.

SWG as above.

etc

Options...
Build it inside the Computer case and use the computer powersupply, with a button at the front to turn it off and on. Use a foot switch so you can keep hands on keypoard. Use a prober timing circuit to increase the delay between mousclicks.

There is also an easy way to build an auto keyboard as well, but that will be for another day.

Does it break the EULA? I would say no, but realistically, the EULA is what they say it is.

EQ2 don't knows the /cast command, also simply clicking the repeat button when crafting will give you a good chance of getting killed while crafting.

Thats why I put EQ above that macro, and only smithing will kill you. The rest are quite safe.

Or I should say the rest are quite safe except maybe Provisioner, as it is the one that I have not yet leveled one past 20 :)

But my post isn't specifically about EQ2, it's a mouse click method for all games, and I provided a few examples.

The rest is up to your ingenuity.

Very unique!

But thankfully there is no way to detect if the mouse click is an actual click from the mouse or a program clicking it. It's both read by windows in the exact same way.

Could be a fun hobby project anyway.
