GW Program: Play Without Buying the Game |
|
was told to put this in these forums by admin
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
-Overview-
Step I: Install Korean typing ability
Step II: Access proxy server via sockscap
Step III: Understanding how to type in Korean
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I.1
| Quote: |
| First open the Control Panel dialog box by clicking on the Start button, and then click on Control Panel. By default the Control Panel is in the new Category View. If that is the case, click on Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options under Pick a Category. If not, you can either click on Switch to Category View to bring it up, or work in the Classic View (in that case just double click on the Regional and Language Options icon to open the Regional and Language Options dialog box; go on to section (3)). |
I.2
| Quote: |
| The Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options opens. Click on Regional and Language Options under or Pick a Panel Control icon. |
I.3
| Quote: |
| You get the Regional and Language Options dialog box. Click on the Languages tab. |
I.4
| Quote: |
| You are now under the Languages tab for the Regional and Language Options dialog box. Check the box for Install East Asian Languages under Supplemental language support. Then click apply and OK. |
I.5
| Quote: |
Once the language files have been installed, click on the Details ... button under Text services and input languages while you are still under the Languages tab for the Regional and Language Options dialog box. You get the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box.
Then click on the Add.. button under Installed services.
|
I.6
OK now restart or whatever it tells you to do after you apply the settings and return to the desktop...
There should now be a toolbar that says something to the effect of "EN English (United States)" this means you have setup your second language correctly
II.1 you need to download and install the latest version of sockscap
http://archive.socks.permeo.com/cgi-bin/download.pl
II.2 drag and drop a guildwars shortcut into the sockscap window to add it to the programs database do the same for Internet explorer (or your favorite Internet browser)
II.3 now this part is difficult and i cant tell you exactly how to do it because it could possibly involve you with illegal activity but you need to get a public access proxy server and you need to test to make sure it isn't located in America you can check this by going to google.com and check to see if it redirected you to a foreign version of google this is good
Note: it would be a good idea to check server proxys and see how fast they go pick a fast one or you will have a SEVERE problem playing...
III.1
you need to repeat the symbols in gold to the textbox this keyboard map should help alot I'm getting pretty tired now ill amend this later if you cant figure it out its really the easy equivalent to a newb puzzle in riven
note: press left alt + left shift to enable Korean/English typing on guildwars then press the right alt key to toggle between Korean and English

Haha its how you can download the game and play it for free. There is no monthly fee for the game but playing it without paying 50 dollars is always nice.

does this still work, and if so, why would you use a proxy with a socks connection program?
can you please explain this better than broken descriptions?

So, you don't have to buy the game but you have to write in korean and play with koreans? Bleh. I guess this is a good way to try the game but otherwise..

or you could just take the box into the bathroom and then tear it open and get the cd key, then throw it back on the shelf/throw it away and download the client from the site....but you didn't hear that from me, and that is stealling....which I don't approve of...

Nice trick - I was just going to return it for credit saying I bought it for my nephew or something and he didn't want that one. But what store did you do that at? A friend told me Futureshop has detectors before the bathrooms, and that some bathrooms have cameras (But I doubt that though). Wal-Marts here have very few PC games and, the electronic part of the store is a bit like a second store; detectors when leaving the sector.
EB is too smart for scams and has no bathrooms (I think).
Hmm :S

I did it in Best Buy with Diablo II, walked in, took the package by the keyboards, pretended i was playing the keyboards while i was dismantling the package beneath the shelf and extracted CD key, crossed it out on the case, and put everything back as was.
Gamestop has a 7 day no questions asked return policy though, much easier.

Risky I don't mind stealing at all as long as I know I can't be caught, and it's not a personal business/someones stuff that insurance won't cover (id est, stealing a bike is bad but a house is fine).
Then again, I wonder how fast security is if they do have a bathroom in the toilets. I have a friend who works for security - in a retirement home - if there are cameras I'll have to ask him but I doubt retirement homes will have cameras for that when I think about it.
I guess Paying is easier but how is it ethical for me to give my money to these big companies? Tssk
Due to copyright laws, computer and game console software, music CDs, DVDs and videos in opened packages may only be exchanged for the same item.
I have to go so no time to add more policies but - Is the Guild wars package, with time, openable without a scratch? If you take your time and all. Worst case scenario I trade it for the same game and have two CD-Keys; 1 for a friend. I guess but I want to pick up Battlefield 2 with my trade

I wonder how you'd get away with stealing a house... ;]
I don't condone stealing except to directly harm multinational billion dollar corporations... I would never steal from an individual. Of course that's an ideological argument I will not be elaborating on here...
