GW Guides: Ultimate Pre-Searing |
|
I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE POSTING THEIR 2 PARAGRAPH SO CALLED "GUIDES" ABOUT HOW TO FARM AND BECOME RICH IN PRE-SEAR. NOW, THIS IS HOW'S ITS DONE!
| Quote: |
| .: The Ultimate Pre-Sear Farm Guide :. |
By: Farts_McGee
[ Chapter 1: Introduction ]
Welcome to the Ultimate Pre-Searing Guide! Here, you will learn the best way to..
- Get experiance and level up
- Get money and items
- Learn how to use different builds
- Have fun!
What you do is, farm River Skale and Skale Broodcallers. With the method I have devised, this can easily be done. The rewards for this are great, and it is easy and fun to do! All you need is this...
[ Chapter 2: Requirements ]
I am sure by now, you are wondering: "What must I do to achieve this greatness?" Wonder no more.
- Be able to access Fort Ranik.
- Have a method of healing yourself
Suggestions:
- Having all the collector's armor.
- Be under level 7.
- Having Gwen heal you. (By giving her a "Red Iris Flower", and letting her follow you.)
- Having a skill that deals area damage.
[ Chapter 3: Character ]
By now, I am sure you are curious to what kind of character you need to be able to do this. Well, here is the answer: It does not matter! Almost any character, can do this run, with any common sense. Just make sure you are able to heal yourself, and that you are at least level 4.
[ Chapter 4: Let's Begin! ]
Ok. Are you ready!? The time has now come, to achieve fame and fortune without even breaking a sweat! Alright, I'll break it down for ya'.
[Step 1]Take the south exit out of Fort Ranik.
[Step 2]Get ready to follow this path.
Once you reach this area, climb down the hill and let the River Skales overtake you.
[Step 3]Now that you have aggrovated your victim's, take them back to your lair.
[Step 4]Back track your steps, back to the "Academy Monk".
[Step 5]You see that tree near the "Academy Monk"? Once you have taken a step past the tree, the "Academy Monk" will heal you constantly, making you invincible!
[Step 6]Now, you want to turn around and fight! Take them out! Now that they are all clustered together, and you are invincible, this would be a good time to use any area attack skills you have!
[Step 7]Once you have wiped the battlefield clean, take your spoils! For the record, my major finds have been...
- 1 Black dye
- 1 Yellow Dye
- 1 Orange Dye
- 1 Silver Dye
- Tons of blue items
- Plenty of gold
- Over 100 Skale fins
- What I do with the skale fins: I exchange them for belt pouches, then site somewhere are sell them all for 30g each.
[ Chapter 5: Is it over? ]
Is that the end of this periolous adreniline pumping journey!? I think not! Now that you have dominated the battlefield, it is time to go collect some hefty stashes.
[Step 1]Go straight, towards a circle of large stone wall things...
[Step 2]Keep on heading forward, untill you reach a very large hill.
Now, you have an extra option. If you are mainly in this for the experiance, then I suggest whipping out a bow, and attacking anyone around you see. Since you are up so high on the hill, you will deal massive damage.
[Step 3]Now, turn back up the hill after that little venture, and hold down the [ALT] key. Now you will see a large hill that you cannot walk on. Walk a circle around it, starting from the left, while still holding the [ALT] key. You will see at least one or maybe two Hidden stashes. These contain items that are commonly blue. Sometimes you will have a hard time finding a chest, and maybe it wont be there.
Boo hoo. But you should at least get one per run.
[Step4]
Enjoy! You have just finished your "Ultimate Pre-Sear" farm run! Now, just rinse and repeat, and you shall be living the high life in no time!
[ Chapter 6: Experiance Counter ]
Since this is such a good, quick easy way to level up and get experiance FAST, I decided to throw this in. It shows how much experiance you will get from a Level 2 Skale Broodcaller, according to your level.
[Level 4]64 Exp.
[Level 5]48 Exp.
[Level 6]32 Exp.
[Level 7]16 Exp.
[ Chapter 7: Builds ]
[ Ranger/Temp. Necromancer ]
Level 4-5
Skills:
--[Power Shot
--[Troll Ungent
--[Resurrection Signet
--[Life Siphon
--[Deathly Swarm Area attack
--[Animate Bone Horror
--[Charm Animal
--[Comfort Animal
What to do:
On your way back to the monk, you need to be patient and go slow. Doing this makes sure that you dont lose half of your victims. What you do is run untill your mob reaches the end of the aggrovation bubble. Once there you wait untill they attack and//or catch up to you again. Your option here is to cast Troll Unget often to keep yourself alive.
Now, once you have reached the monk, you stand next to her. You whip out a bow, and you select a target. First, I would use Deathly Swarm. After the first target is dead, I would use Animate Bone Horror. The positve of this skill is that it makes all the enemies attack it, and not you. And, it will pretty much be invincible since the Monk heals it. So, you pretty much rinse and repeat.
[ Ranger/Temp. Elementalist ]
Level 5-7
Skills:
--[Power Shot
--[Troll Ungent
--[Resurrection Signet
--[Fire Storm Area attack
--[Aura of Restoration
--[Glyph of Lesser Energy
--[Charm Animal
--[Comfort Animal
What to do:
For aggrovating, use the same tactics.
Once you have reached the monk, your first spell is Glyph of Lesser energy. Now, select a target that is smack in the middle of your mob. Cast Fire Storm on him. Now, you can go around picking out level 2 targets and hitting them with Power Shot. You should kill all but 3 or 4 from Fire storm. Now you can choose to either snipe them out or just wait for Fire Storm again.
[ Ranger/Anything ]
Level 7-8
Skills:
--[Point Blank Shot
--[Power Shot
--[Dual Shot
--[Ignite Arrows Area attack
--[ ~ ~ ~
--[ ~ ~ ~
--[Troll Ungent
--[Charm Animal
What to do:
For aggrovating, use the same tactics.
Once you have reached the monk, turn around and cast Ignite arrows. Next, select a target that looks to be in the middle of the pack. Cast dual shot. Then wait untill your energy recharges then rinse and repeat. After about ever 4 dual shots, Ignite arrows needs to be replenished.
Attributes:
I actually remember these...
--[Wilderness Survival] +5
--[Marksmanship] +5

First of all, where? The first 2 in the very beginning, will only become aggrivated if you attack them. Other ones farther down the road will get aggrovated just by moving your aggro bubble over them. But, yes, it is weird, some of the River Skale will not follow you.

yeah, they've nerfed this. you can get them together for a little while, but once they get near the tree, they all start running back.

Ok, I havent checked to see if its nerfed, but I will take your word for it (for now) and explain how to do this, modified.
Alright, so here is the deal. We no longer are able to be invincible, correct? So, what we need to do is be able to survive a mass rape by Skale Broodcallers.
There are 4 ways to do this, and I suggest you use them all for best results.
1) Defense.
You want to grab yourself some new collectors armor, if you are to lazy to go out and find the collectors yourself, go look at GW Guru, or just google it, and I am sure you will find a map of where the collectors are. In addition to this, you should be able to buy the needed materials the traders want if you do not want to go farm them yourself. So, the first step in making yourself able to survive on your own, is getting the collectors armor.
2) Healing.
You may think that a bunch of weak level 2 Broods will not be able to damage you, even with your spiffy new armor? Guess again. When you take 2 damage to yourself, and multiple it by about 5-10, you realize you will be in a world of hurt if you are not able to keep yourself alive with some healing spells. So what you want to do is grab your professions healing spell, and maybe even your secondary profession healing spell just to be extra cautious. So once you have healing, you will have a higher chance of survival.
3) Backup healing.
We all know that having a monk in a party pretty much boosts your chances of success by .. ALOT. They keep you alive, and make you less relient on yourself, in case something happens to you, such as no more mana to heal yourself or you forget to bring healing spells. But, we all know its Pre-sear and you should try and solo these Broods for the highest chance of drops and experiance. So, what is the solution? Gwen. I am sure many of you are aware that you can get Gwen (that little annoying girl that follows you around) to run around and HEAL you, serving the role of a monk. So to do this (I will go in very little detail for it is common sense and can easily be googled.) You go outside of Ascalon, cross the river and grab the girls broken flute. You then return to Ascalon and buy her a new one, and a 200gold cape. After this (I think those are the only steps) she should follow you and heal you. There is your monk to help you with backup healing to better your chances of survival.
4) Avoid.
Would you just stand there if someone started throwing rocks at you? I would assume not. What you do is MOVE and avoid, or dodge the rocks. We will do the same thing against the Broods. So, how do you do that? Its simple. You make a formation to avoid their shots. You run in a Z formation, running left, and then diagonally and then right, to avoid their attacks, making the shape of a Z. This will keep you away from their attacks, allowing you to not get hurt. You run in a Z shape, because it optimizes your chances of dodging attacks, and the diagonal / movement, enables you to cover ground AND dodge attacks. This procedure, if done correctly, will enable to dodge about 50% of all attacks, reducing the damage done to you. Once again, kepeing you alive without the healer to make you invicible.
So now you have learned the 4 correct steps to keeping yourself alive.
But, since you now have a scattered group, what you must do is the same thing you did before, and aggrovate a large group of broods, while using the Z formation dodge and clump the, all together. You have better armor, healing spells, a monk and a high dodge %. If all done properly, this should easily make up for not being invincible, yes more work, but just as much reward. So, when you have your clumped up group, continue to dodge, but instead of making a Z, you no longer need to cover ground, do you can just go back and fourth, left and right to avoid their attacks. So now, all you have to do is cast your Area of Effect spell, heal, cast, heal all while doding. Rinse and repeat, and you should be able to cleanse the battlefield with ease. Now continue on with your chest hunting and you can finish up and do it all over again. ^^
But, another optional thing to do I thought I would throw in, is you can get the quest from that one lady just near the enterance to Fort Ranik, she wants you to go grab an apple basket, you can take that quest, run over the the apple basket, do the same battlefield strategy as you did against the broods and you should be able to do this easy. Then what you do, is begin to carry the basket back to her, and you should aggro more spiders on the way, and you shouldnt really get hurt if you have the armor, Z formation and Gwen to kepe you alive. So make your way back to her and you should have a decent amount of spiders to kill, then zone back without completeing the quest, and repeat as many times as you like. Spiders have decent drops and experiance, so enjoy yourself.
So maybe Ill go check if this is actually nerfed, once my comp stops being retarted, for some reason I cannot connect to GW when I try and log in. I believe it is an IP ban...but I dont know what I did? I have been playing legit, no 3rd party programs, and no scammings ... actually, I did use my autoit script to spam.. (Gulp) if I get banned because of that I am not going to be happy.
Anyway, hope this all works out for you all.
