This guide also seems to be worded from the tranlsation I made of MrArgus readme file and definitely based off of the MrArgus that I translated ("Draw Near" button was how I chose to tranlsate the JP. The JP says somthing like "Draw Target at your Feet"). You can find them here:
http://www.taultunleashed.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=26288
Another note to the OP- You wrote that MrArgus requires you to put /targetnpc into your macro. This is false. Before the mob pops, mrargus modifies your memory to trick your client to think the mob is targeted. That means, to make a macro, all you really need is:
/ja "Provoke" <t>
or
/ma "Dia" <t>
depending on what your job is.
You can test that MrArgus is tricking the client by doing this:
1. Select the mob you want.
2. Click Start
3. Go to FFXI and type something like /p <t>
4. You will see the mobs name your hunting in place of <t> even tho hes no where in site. And not shown as your active target.

Yeah... I stated that the picture was from another post on this site, probably yours. Thanks for making it, I will test out the non /targetnpc thing but last time it didn't work for me. I'll test ou and give you a status report asap

Eh, actually, it didn't target the mob when I used just /ja "Provoke" <t> AND when I tryed /echo <t>(like you reccomended) it was simply <t>, could you please explain more on your theory? And which MrArgus you were using as I have about five MrArgus's now, by far the one you translated is the best. But I still require /targetnpc, any info on this and how you do it without /targetnpc would be very much appriciated.

Trust me it works. If you want to test, you MUST do it in this way.
- Be in the zone near the mob you want (you can NEVER get a mobs status if your not even close to it...duh)
- Load up MrArgus. Select the NPC (the one your currently at the camp for).
- Click Start
- Then before selecting any other mobs, type somting like /echo <t>
For instance. If i go to where jaggedy eared jack spawns while hes dead, then load up NPC to make sure hes been loaded into Memory. Then I click Start and type "/echo <t> sucks!" in FFXI, I will see "Jaggedy Earred Jack sucks" in my chat log.

OK, i think I know why you think MrArgus isnt targetting.
.....You will NEVER see MrArgus actually target the mob. When it pops, and vokes, you will not see the mobs name pop into the Target window (which is above your name). The mob wont pop into the target window until it hits you, or you hit it.

Oh and LAST BUT NOT LEAST-
When you are adding any mob to MrArgus, you must click ADD before you fire up the bot. If the mob is already saved in your database, then you do not need to Add first.
For instance, MrArgus will not work if you run our into east ronfaure, then type the ID 011b and give it the name Big Mouth Billy, but you forget to click Add. If you then click Start. You will get an error in the log, or it will simply start hunting the mob that was selected BEFORE your entered the new mob. CLICKING ADD AFTER ADDING A NEW MOB IS IMPORTANT

Yeah I'm pretty sure I included that somewhere, I'll check post and edit if needed.

^^ That explains a lot, but I just tryed out your MrArgus English one on a Stalking Sapling in Batallia Downs and no luck... BUT there was indeed more than one Stalking Sapling in the zone and in the range SO I'm assuming that has something to do with it, I'll try it with a mob that has only appeared on the scan once, thanks for info though, appriciated.

if it is not targeting, ur init offset it wrong. somewhere on this site, the offset is posted incorrectly, if it ends with 80 it is wrong, i believe it should be 90
