Modem tricks ( For Premium ) : DAOC Submissions

For this, you need a cable modem, I use a surfboard modem. On the modem you have to have a "StandBy" button, here is a picture of it.

You can see the standby button on the bottom.

Here are a few things you can do....

Warping/Teleporting ( Looks like you're walking on your screen, but for everyone else watching you, it looks like you teleported )

Hit the standby
Walk to desired Location
Hit standby again

You just teleported, but wait..How does this help me??

Well...Hit standby, walk across lava in Volc and hit Standby again..
Congratulations, you just crossed lava taking NO lava damage

How about trying to get from Point A to Point B but there are mobs in the way???

You guessed it,
Hit standby, walk through the mobs to the desired location, and hit it again. You will obtain no mob aggro.

-Some random things

It's fun to use this trick while playing warlocks,
hit standby, move into los of the target, hit chamber 1, wait a few seconds, hit chamber 2, move back into your hiding spot, and hit standby again

For the enemy, it will seem like he just got two chambers unloaded into him out of no where.

Killing people doing whatever?
Hit standby
Run to the people and hit standby again
Unleash your fury on them!!
For them it will seem like you just landed on top of them from nowhere!

Cons of using this trick-
If you're on standby for more then 15-20 seconds, you will go linkdead in-game, so make sure to get your objective done quickly.


There are MANY more things you can do with this, you are only limited to what you can think of. I'm not too bright so these are the only things I could come up with hehe
