New Character Mailbox Access? : LOTRO - Discussions

I use a lot of throw away toons for item storage but hate having to create the new toon and then get them through all of the Intro quests to gain access to a mailbox. Any suggestions on how to speed this up?

I tend to use dwarves or elves, rather than humans or hobbits as the intro quests seem to go faster. Is there any way to skip the intro quests all together and just start outside Thorin's Gate or Archet?

Extra toons make for good storage but it can be pain to go through the same introductory quests over and over...

At the start of intro quest you can choose to "skip intro quest" when you talk to the NPC. It will port you to after the intro quest where you can just run to Bree/Combe for the mailbox

After the comic "Bag Lady" went live, I sent out a quick email to Patience, Community Manger for LOTRO.

She was kind enough to respond to my request for more info on the vault packs, obtaining the following info from Eliot Gilman, one of the folks working on the update:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You can buy up to a total of 4 extra storage containers from the
vault-keeper. Each container has 15 spots for items.

Extra vault space is available and priced as follows*:

Level 15: 45 silver
Level 30: 735 Silver
Level 45: 2 Gold 230 Silver
Level 50: 4 Gold 500 Silver

* Terms and conditions may change without notice, pending feedback from
Isengard and QA."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Realize of course that this is subject to change without notice as it goes through the testing and QA process.

As the vault packs are said to be the same size as inventory packs, we will not gain a LOT - but every spare cubbyhole helps!

Now we need to convince Turbine (and WoW) that:
a) quest items should be VIRTUAL, not physical
b) keys should go on an invisible key-ring
c) things really should stack better. Let's just make it a consistent 50 items per stack, like we have for ore. Right now, some items don't stack, some go 5, others 10, etc.

With the addition of these three modifications, I could certainly live with the inventory allotment outlined! Wren, on the other hand, will never have enough room. Ever!
