Idiot's Guide to Bots |
|
I got VGExtreme to work but Ultrabot does nothing but turn and target. Nothing else.
I've tried other bots but they don't work either and VGX doesn't seem to know that VGExtreme is running.
Maybe a guide to understanding all that gibberish that's in the bot scripts? I look at it and it's all greek to me. I have no idea where to start and the FAQ does nothing for this.

Download and run VGExtreme Radar. It requires no user configuration for the radar to work and is ideal for testing whether or not you have installed properly. It should be obvious if it works, as you will see a bunch of circles overlay on your screen for the npcs within range.
Also run vgextreme.vbs. It should bring up a window with some basic information about your character and nearby mobs.

Yes, those I get to work.
But what I NEED is a hunting script that works. All the scripts I've downloaded either do nothing or they just target mobs over and over w/o doing anything at all.

I haven't tried any of the hunting bots but none of them are totally plug-n-play and will require some configuration on the users part. Maybe someone more familiar with those bots can help

I have had the same issue. the warrior bot by ant worked very well but it lacked any clear way to change the range of attack so in many areas where kos mobs are present it posed and issue. I am currently working on getting ultra bot working for me but it seems like it is no longer supported by taultunleashed due to the "installation and guide" is no where to be found. All i find is many links to " check readme.doc" which ultrabot for vanguard does not have one and i cannot find a download for the EQ2 version....
It would be nice if someone posted a basic working script. Seems like common sense to me to do that. I dont think anyone who is really interested in this is expecting a plug n play just that it seems very strange that clear instructions are rare and often are only half done. Case in point the working kill bot by ant... i wouldnt need another bot if it wasnt for the fact that i am unable to adjust the settings.

Just fyi, I believe wyvernx will be producing a vg mmoviper down the road, probably after the aoc one is debugged and warhammer has one. That will be a very easy to use hunter bot.
Behind the scenes, I know another member is working on an assist bot, but I have no information on release time frame.
Tweaking the ultrabot to work properly is a difficult task, and the hunter bot mode of that script gets in a loop because of an offset that was not returning the correct values. Not sure if the offset has been fixed, but it may take some recoding in the bot anyway to get it working in hunter mode.
Once my craft bot 2.0 is released (probably within a few weeks), I may play around with these.
