Safe to flee tool? : FFXI General Discussions

Well, with the release of ([Sprinter's Shoes]), everyone can get +12% movement speed... the only annoying thing about them is using them once every 5 min or just the inventory +1. Now no one would really be able to report you for fleetooling as long as you kept it at 12%...

I pose the question; Do you think it is now safe to keep fleetool on for 12% extra movement speed at all times?

Why it is safe:
----People won't be surprised to see you moving a little faster and thus you won't get reported as often.
----If they really screwed up when they implemented their checking system, they might not be able to detect it.
----They might not care; it's hardly *that* gamebreaking.

Why it isn't safe:
----It is considered highly likely they have a system that flags people who move too fast. It would not be in any way difficult to compare your speed to your proper speed; as opposed to some generic base value.

Imo: You're relying on SE screwing up, either by negligence or awful programming. Not safe.

Edit: I feel context is needed. You will probably get away with it in the short term. Whether you consider a possible eventual ban a worthwhile trade for a 12% increase in speed, I don't know. Unless you have accounts to burn, I don't advise it.

This is, without a doubt, the best post/answer to a question I have ever seen. Everything about it is perfect. I just may print it off and tape it to my wall so I can bask in its glory at all times. I'm not kidding.

I don't think your a nazi-mod. Although I suppose you could be considered a nazi in one sense because you do have (near) unlimited authority here. <3

I'm often impressed by your answers/posts too; The only reason I posted in response to pyro's is because he had an outstanding answer. Surely I cannot be the only one who thinks his answer was incredible.

Erm, thanks all :-p^.

Flee / Pos ruled, but they've had their day. Personally my current interest is more in bots than 'hacks' right now.

Majority rule, you have no choice but to become a regular member with us!

To tell the truth, I don't know if I even need premium anymore. When is the last time I had a serious post in a confirmed section? I suppose submissions would be the exception.
