Subject description: get stuff at the lowest price

Ok I havent tried this for a long time so not sure if it still works, and I dont have access to FFXI to actually try it. (and it may be common knowledge)

if you see lots of a perticular item on the AH, usually someone will put thiers up at a lower price to sell it faster. No there is no real way of seeing how much cheaper that item has been put up for.

If you manually sort you inventory so its full, and the proceed to bid much lower prices for the item you are after buying...if the you can't but it for that price you will get a message saying "You were unable to buy the **** for *** gil."
but if you can buy it at the price you asked it will say "You can not bid on that items because your inventory is full" (something along those lines).
Quickly resort your inv so you have room and make the bid again.

again sorry if this is common knowledge or no longer works.

Don't know if it works because I haven't tried it, but I can see there being other uses for this. Say you're trying to sell a similar item, and how often have you seen the price on the AH raised thinking I'm going to make some profit here, only to put up the item and not have it sold because it was undercut by the guy who put it up before you. Assuming this trick still works, you can undercut the undercutters... I'm going to try it later and no I did not know this so I personally would /yay this for points. Good exploit.

This trick still works, and is very common knowledge since most CGF/RMTs use this to undercut players that actually work hard at what they sell on the AH.

A few people have gotten 1+ million gil items for only 1,000-10,000 gil.

you may have but coming from a new member here there is know why i would read 1-2 years of posts just to find this out. there is no sticky with a list of all the working tricks and such that it is nice when people post stuff that may have been from years ago so new people can see then with out digging for days on end.

Um... this DOES NOT work. I said earlier in this thread I would yay it for points if it did, but it doesn't. I don't think Kagami actually tested it recently.

As of now, you get the same message regardless of what your bid is, whether it be much higher than the asking price on the Auction House or much lower than the asking price.

The message you get is:

"You cannot bid on that merchandise. Either your inventory is full or you can only hold one item of that type".

Why does this get 300 points and the guide I wrote a while ago about airships only 200? (For which I never got credit for I might add.)

300 points for a non-working exploit seems kind of silly.

Common knowledge no, but on the US PC version this no longer works. I guess I'm the only one that's actually bothered to test it...

I think I'll make up some bogus trick for points and get someone to move it to confirmed... But what kind of trick? Will probably have to be something that involves gil...

=.=; I did test it for a few items, but didn't bother to test rare items since I'm low on gil in game.
