Frostfell Icy fast AA (as of 1/2/08) : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

Since there's only 3 days left of Frostfell, I figure it's safe to post this.. here is the CONFIRMED way to make fast AA.. everything else posted up to this point has been public knowledge and already-nerfed info. Here's the trick to massive AA.

1. Make sure the chars you want are up to stage 3 quest (covering your tracks)
2. Get a level 15 (offhand/twink/etc) invite to group. Park in town (not in frostfell)
3. Invite all others to group.
4. Mentor to the level 15. Seems to be the sweet spot.. a well equipped 80 can 1 shot quite a few of the mobs.
5. Everybody else zone into FF, then to Icy/Easy
6. Burn the zone down. Spread out, it can go fastest with 2-3 people actively participating. It only takes a couple times through to realize the best efficiency for your group. However, you still get quest update/AA sitting at the zone.
7. With a little work, you can skip about 25% of the mobs, focus on the goblins / named, and roll the quest over in about 6 minutes.. I've been in a group that did it sub 2 minutes.. crazy.

A level 60 char will get between 15-20% AA per quest run. Lower levels get more, higher levels get slightly less.

That, my friends is the way to massive AA in Icy.. it works like a charm.

It works however it needs more directions.

1. You need a lower level mentor i.e. level 1
2. mentor the lvl 1
3. zone into the icy keep with the lvl 1 first!
4. then zone in with the higher level toon
5. once in zone unmentor
6. wipe the zone while grey about 6-7 AA per run in under 5 min.

Two things:
1. worth clarifying that you can't mentor below level 10 on PVP servers.
2. Mentored to level 10, it's not 6-7 AA -- it's the same percentage as mentoring a 15...

Frostfell is finished for another year, and as many times as I tried this trick, I wasn't getting anywhere near the return claimed here. More like 2-4%.

It appeared to depend somewhat on your present level and number of AA's.. a level 32 with 15 AA's doing it was getting 28% AA per completion. A level 70 doing it with 60 AA's was getting 15% per completion. I personally gathered somewhere around 100 AA pts across a couple characters, and had friends who did far more than I. It did work.


The other nice trick however, was that when you get to the end, and you know they're closing FF, and you have no idea what to do with 900 Eci tokens you don't need? At least 1 of the (1) token cost items still sold for 1g32s at the city vendors.
