Here is how you can record simple macros for EQ2.

First, get XU,
Register it
Now, click on the options tab and go down to the UserDefined 1 and lets modify it.

Change it to your path to Everquest2. Ie the full path to eq2.exe.

Change the hook1 to Everquest2.exe

Now, go in game.

Head to your crafting zone.

Buy several stacks of Pepper, salt, and acerated water. total 6cp*3= 18cp. Which we are going to sell for 25 cp per craft.

Now, head down to the stove.

Open up the Packet of Spice Recipe, but dont start crafting yet.

This is important. Now, bring up the XU Macro window by moving your mouse to the bottom of the game screen. It will pop up in the middle, but you wont be able to move it or click any of the buttons. Here is the work around!!!!!

Now, hit I to open up your inventory.

Move the inventory window so that your character avatar is behind the macro play/record buttons.

Now, you can move the macro window around. Move it to the left side of the screen away from your crafting window.

Lets record a macro.

Follow these steps EXACTLY!

Click Record
Click Begin (on the stove/keg window)
Wait 2 seconds
Click Begin (yes it is greyed out, this is for the repeat later)
click on 2 of your cooking buffs
Wait 5 seconds
Hit F12 to stop recording.

Bring up the macro window again
Click Play Macro Looped checkbox
Click play!

Now go watch a movie, and come back with your skills raised!

Wow. This whole time I thought XU wouldn't work in EQ2. heh, I feel like a moron for not trying it out myself.

Thanks for the info.

Edited... (I worked a couple of things out)
A naive question perhaps but I am new to this program. I can bring up the Macro window but it's on a strange angle (about 45 degrees ie the top of the window is warped to the left) and I don't seem to be able to interact with it. The record button is there but I can't press it (at least there is no obvious sign that I've pressed it) and I can't check the Play Macro Looped box
Thanks in advance
D
PS what are cooking buffs?

Change your resolution slightly.

Ie sounds like you are playing windowed.

Drag your window to a slightly different size and it will correct the problem.

Cooking buffs, are the normal tradeskill buffs (see your knowledge window)

Thanks for the reply, making it full screen fixed the problem.
Cheers to all,

steve,

check yoru xu log.
try getting xu to work in the test configs, ie directx9 test config.

make sure you dont have other plugins loaded like the daoc map or ffxi map, etc.

finally post your xu log in a new thread.

Cooking Buffs? All crafting actions have spells that counter crafting side effects that can cause you to take damage. They can also speed up the process (and make your items less dureable, etc.).

Buffs, spells, counter icons, whatever you want to call them.

Start crafting, and you will find out what we are talking about.

This might be a stupid question, as I've never used xunleashed until today, but how do I save my macro?

Change the name of it.

When you record, it saves the macro with the name that you have in the macro title box.
