this long article consists of the following parts: - stats-wise - skills-wise - equip-wise - lvlling up as aco - why i recommend int/vit full support than int/dex ME support? - extra pts. to add after monsters' skills
stats-wise:
the beginning stats for a support priest is 9 int, 9 vit, 9 agi.
since u r support, u will be fully dependant on spells, that means sp regen and magic attack r significant!! so i suggest u to max int first, u will be lvl 67 by the time u max int. after that, it depends on what kinda support priest u wanna be.
int/vit full support:
if u wanna be int/vit full support priest (which i highly recommend and i will tell u why later), u will pump vit after u max int. however, it's ur personal style whether u wanna max vit or not. if u will go solo later, u might just pump vit to abt 70-75 and work on dex afterwards. this allows u to hv tones of hp, less dmg from monsters and faster cast of holy light and KE (every 15 dex reduces 10% of cast time).
int/dex ME support:
if u wanna be ME support, then pmup dex up to at least 75 after max int (but many ME priests suggest that u need 90 dex for decent cast, i think it's all ur decision though ^^), i.e., at 75, it's half cast time then u might consider pump pump vit after ur desired amount of dex (that really depends on ur style of playing, some1 might prefer even more dex. this could be risky as u can't take mob at all, u'd better be sure that ur ME kills all monsters or at least most of it with another priest healing u). u still need some vit becoz by the time u want to cast ME, there is usually a pretty big mob. if u hv some vit, u hv more hp, at least u can take some hits when u r casting ME (this is particularly important after KE/SW wears out) and after u cast ME, i.e., the cool down time after casting ME, it's usually 2 or 3 sec, during which u can't cast anything, not even healing urself, so u might need more hp to keep u alive as all monsters turn to u after being hit by ME. however, if u also consider using TU sometimes, u might wanna hv some luk and less vit, i m not sure abt the exact luk u need for good TU, but i think <20 luk is good enough. however, if u r ME support, i don't recommend u to rely on TU and i will explain it in ME support priest skills later.
what abt agi compared to vit?
i won't suggest u to rely on agi at all becoz agi only works nicely when u hv really high agi. however, most of u will want dex to some extent, which implies u can't hv very high agi. even u hv really high agi, u'd still be screwed in mobs. hence, even u r int/dex ME support, agi still doesn't suit u due to ur need of high dex.
skill-wise:
aco:
for aco skills, they r the same for both ME support and full support. if u r going to be full support, i highly recommend u to change into priest at job 50; if u r ME support, change at at least job 47:
lvl 5 heal lvl 5 divine protection lvl 10 bless lvl 10 agi up lvl 10 heal lvl 1 ruwach lvl 2 telepot lvl 4 warp lvl 1 pneu (forget the whole name =P) lvl 2 angelus lvl 1 aqua (i never remember the second word of this skill's name) lvl 5 angelus
if u got everything as above, it'd take u to job 50. why u only hv lvl 5 heal to start with? this is becoz when u r low lvl, ppl u party with and urself don't hv that much hp anyway. high lvl heal is not yet necessary. u might as well stay as lvl 5 heal and pump bless and agi up first for better support of party. i'd recommend u to pump bless first coz more int helps ur sp regen. u get lvl 2 angelus as required for KE, but if u r int/vit, i recommend u to pump to lvl 5 angelus after u get all necessary/required skills becoz the more vit u hv, the more angelus works on increasing ur defence (but this is optional). i put aqua as the last skill u get (that is if u change at job 47) becoz u won't need it till u hv asperio when u r priest (priest skills to be discussed later). however, u might want it earlier when monsters' skills r implemented (but i don't know yet as it's not yet implemented in chaos, so i hvn't tested it out yet). i put the last 3 lvls of angelus at the end just in case if any1 is impatient to get up to job 50, they won't lose much as angelus is just a bonus!!
holy light
u can get this skill when u r at job 30 as an aco. i highly recommend u to get this skill as it can hit on all monsters. u need 1 crystal blue, 1 rosary and 1 opal to obtain the skill and u get it in the church in prontera. u can't lvl it up though. according to my experience, the dmg of holy light depends on ur int, base lvl and the defence of the monster u hit.
then u change to priest, there r different skills setting for both kinda priests:
int/vit full support:
lvl 4 sp regen lvl 1 status recovery lvl 4 res lvl 3 mag lvl 4 KE lvl 3 gloria lvl 3 imo... (i will call it IM coz forget the full name =P) lvl 3 suff lvl 5 asperio lvl 10 KE lvl 5 lex divina lvl 1 lex a. (i forget the full name again, let's stick to lex a. =P) lvl 5 IM lvl 5 mag
i recommend u to max res straight away coz firstly, u can res ur party when they r dead and secondly, why would ur party die even with ur support? probably becoz there is a mob!! if u follow my suggestion on the order of getting skills, u'd be probably abt lvl 67 or 68 when u first get res, i.e., u don't hv much hp, abt 2k if i remember correctly, and i assume u don't hv phen clip yet, so 6 sec of cast time would be a nightmare when the mob would be probably hitting u. u definitely get mag after that coz u would still run outta sp sometimes unless u hv 120+ int, which is only possible after u max int, with bless and with all equips (to be discussed). after that, although KE is very useful, u won't solo yet at this lvl, abt 70 by this time i think, i.e., u party. so i suggest u to get all the support skills first, that is gloria, IM, suff and asperio, then go back to max KE afterwards. following this order, u get lex divina and lex a afterwards. however, u might wanna get lex divina earlier as there will be monsters' skills. i can't give u a certain answer yet as i hvn't tested it yet. don't max mag and gloria though, i don't think they worth investing coz the higher lvl of them only means the longer lasting. u only cast mag when u or ur party r low on sp and cast gloria whenever u want as it's fast to cast. max IM lastly coz although it's a good skill, it's not as significant as suff, asperio and gloria.
these r all the skills i suggest u as a must. u will hv 3 skill pts left. it was my mistake that i forgot IM max at lvl 5. anyway, it's all ur free will of what to get from here. u might consider cure or B.S Sacramenti (this is a bit troublesome coz u need 3 aco/priest together when casting) or even sanctury for guild war later (u might not be able to heal every1 in time =P).
int/dex ME support:
lvl 4 sp regen lvl 1 status recovery lvl 4 res lvl 3 mag lvl 4 KE lvl 1 gloria lvl 3 IM lvl 4 asperio lvl 5 lex divina lvl 1 lex a. lvl 3 TU lvl 3 sanctury lvl 1 SW lvl 10 ME lvl 6 KE / lvl 5 IM / lvl 4 IM + lvl 1 gloria
instead of getting all the required skills for ME straight away, i recommend u to get lvl 4 KE and lvl 1 gloria at an early stage. this is becoz ur ME won't work effectively till u r lvl 75+ anyway (by that time, u hv some dex even u max int first). might as well get some support skills at an early stage, so that u can support ur party better at least (both crit sin and falcon hunter love gloria!! and u get to party with them alot!!). although it's different from what i suggest, u might wanna pump lex divina and lex a. first b4 IM and asperio becoz of monsters' skills (as i said, i m not sure abt this one @@). after u get all required skills for ME, u definitely want to max ME, it's much more powerful maxing it!! then u go back to pump KE or other skills as suggested afterwards. i prefer KE than SW becoz u can move with KE while SW fix u at 1 spot. this is esp. important during the cool down time after u cast ME, like 2-3 sec, when all monsters will be hitting u after attacked by ME. SW can only take 10 hits even u max it. let's imagine in a mob of 5+ prisoners, SW wears out almost instantly!! but if u r using KE, u can at least run around and wait during the cool down time with it helping u to block a few hits at least when u can't heal urself, while in the case of SW, u can only stand at one pt., otherwise, it'd be useless!! on the other hand, refering to stats planning of ME suppport priest, the higher lvl of TU, the higher chance it works. however, u won't hv spare skill pts. to hv more than lvl 3 TU if u follow what i suggest. u might just wanna concentrate on ME and forget abt using TU, so as wasting some stats pts. on luk!!
equip-wise
erudite biretta/erudite circlet
basically these 2 r both ok. it's cheaper to get a biretta. however, u might want more magical defence esp. when monsters' skills r implemented. i m using erudite biretta meanwhile and i think it's ok so far. since i maxed int already, i guess my magical defence should be ok, too.
erudite sunglasses/"marduk-card" sunglasses
erudite sunglasses adds 2 int obviously. but since monsters' skills r coming, u might wanna consider marduk card ones, which prevent one from being silenced and 5% faster cast time. i m using erudite sunglasses meanwhile. i wanna try out if holy water can cure silence b4 i decide on whether i wanna get the marduk ones.
romantic leaf/flower
this is just a bonus!! it won't give u extra int or magical defence/attack. it just reduce dmg from plant monsters. u hv the lower head gear slot empty anyway, hehe, or u might want a flu mask. =P
"babydessert wolf card" saint robe
saint robe is the best gear u can hv as priest. babydessert wolf card gives u 1 more int.
arcwand??
well, if u hv bonewand already, of course it'd be better than arcwand. however, don't bother to get a bonewand if u don't hv it. instead, try to get a 2 slot arcwand or 3 slot staff. by the time of weapon +int card is implemented, u can get a +5 int weapon for the best!! meanwhile, i'd just recommend u to stick to arcwand.
a set of different bucklers
u do need a set of bucklers for different monsters: - thara frog card one - reduce dmg from demi-human monsters - big foot card one - reduce dmg from insect monsters - orc warrior one - reduce dmg from brute monsters - khalizburg one - reduce dmg from demon monsters (but the card is super rare and abt 30 mil atm, might as well get other gears first @@)
eggyra shoes/matyr shoes
if u r ME support priest, u definitely goes for eggyra shoes becoz 10% extra hp, which matyr shoes give u won't be so significant (u don't hv that many hp to start with, 10% would be little =P)
however, u might consider matyr shoes if u r int/vit priest, u will get 10k+ hp with matyr shoes after u max vit. however, i personally like faster sp regen, so i prefer eggyra shoes. they r particularly useful b4 u get a mitten glove (to be discussed when i talk abt mitten).
immune muffler
reydric card helps to reduce physical dmg. i m not sure abt the exact % of reduction though. since u hv loads of int, ur magical defence would be relatively high. so a muffler that reduces physical dmg would be good. but it's very expensive too. i hvn't got one yet. @@
bonus gears:
mitten gloves
it is accessory class and it adds 1 int. my int/vit priestess is now lvl 70/33. she has maxed int. however, i still run outta sp sometimes. why? with bless and my gears, i hv 99+21 int, which is 120 in total. sp regen will be much much faster at every extra int when u go beyond 120 int. that means, if i get 1 mitten (even better if i can afford 2), which makes 121 or 122 int, my sp regen speed goes up exponentially. but just get 1 if u will get a phen clip later.
phen clip
this is a must for int/dex ME support priest becoz the cast time of ME is long and u r very likely to be interupped becoz it's usually very mobbish when u want to cast ME. however, it's also desirable to get this even u r int/vit full support priest becoz u can kill non-undead by holy lights much more easily (do remember, holy light also takes 1.5 sec to cast and u don't hv agi, so u r very likely to be interupped too!!)
earring
it is accessory class, too. it adds 2 extra int. however, it's extremely expensive. i personally can't afford it atm. @@
lvlling up as aco
this is how i lvl my aco to job 50:
as a novice
for int/vit full support, u always miss when u hit becoz u hv no dex. u can probably get some1 to tank u in pyramids 1 on poporings and spores. for int/dex ME support, u can go hitting elder willow if u hv a tank. if u hv no tank, then u will hv to hit the most basic stuff, e.g., poring, lunatic, roda frog, etc. no shortcuts!! however, do remember, don't simply change to aco once ur job lvl is 9, u'd regret it!! after u r an aco, u can only use wand-kind or mace-kind weapon. u can hit nothing with wand-kind weapon but u need to be at least base lvl 14 to use ur first mace-kind weapn, i.e., a chain. stay as a novice till u r lvl 14. otherwise, u'd hv a real hard time during that cap as noob aco, i.e., nobody parties with u and u can't hit anything. @@
lvl 14 - lvl 35
if u hv a tank, go to byalan 2. u'd lvl up like crazy there till abt lvl 30 or even a bit higher. it'd be even better if u hv a wind chain, but it's ok if u don't hv. if u don't hv a tank, go payon 1, try to find a share party, it'd be easier for u as u hv very little sp only. but if u can't find one, just go and heal bomb any zombies u come across. if u don't hv enough sp to finish them, run around or find a save spot or call for help and wait for some1 to finish it for u, u still get the xp!! ^.~
lvl 35 - lvl 45
if u hv a tank, go payon 4 hitting sohees then, they give u good xp till lvl 50+. if u don't, go geffen 1 and try to find share party, u still lvl real fast there.
lvl 45-55
if u hv tank, continue to hit sohees, coz being a support priest with max int first, u'd probably miss a lot on zenorc (but u get 1 extra hit for every lvl ^^). if u don't hv a tank, go orc dungeon 1 to find a share party. xp is good and the loots there r decent too, good money!!
lvl 55 - lvl 60
if u hv tank, go orcs 2 for zenorcs. although they give crap job xp, they give good base xp. u can lvl up faster and get to party with stronger ppl to go stronger place for better xp. if u don't hv a tank, go to find party in pyramids for minos or geffen 2. xp from there r alright.
lvl 60+ - priest!!
if u hv a tank, go gh graveyard or even prison!! u'd make priest very soon!! (a high lvl int/vit full support priest would make the best tank in this case. they can take hits and mobs as well as casting all supportive spells on u!! ^.~) otherwise, comodo north cave is all the way good till u r priest. however, static golems there hv very high defence and hv loads of hp. so i suggest u to go there with a crit sin and a wiz/mage. moreover, the skill, pneu, is highly desirable to go there becoz there is this monster doing splash attack and they can be pretty troublesome (ok, i confess that i never remember monsters' names @@)
this is just a rough suggestion, u might find a lvlling pattern even better.

why i recommend int/vit full support than int/dex ME support?
to enable ME works effectively, u need very good mob trainers (usually more than 1), that is ppl with very high flee. then u need another priest to heal ur party when u r casting that forever-casting ME and to heal u when u can't heal urself!! u don't always find all these ppl. @@ what usually happens, at least happens to my old int/dex ME support priestess, is that all my mob trainers die when i m still casting, then all monsters turn to me and kill me instantly!! u can't half way stop casting nor run.
ME only kills demons and undeads. it's not good enough, for instance, u find hunterfly and brilight in prison, ME can't kill them. @@ and usually when u party or go mvp hunt, u might party with wizards, their stormgust is much better: much faster to cast and kills almost everything!! as a member of a team, ur job is to keep every1 alive and support them. so why not get all the support skills? with vit, u'd probably the one who lasts longest. even ur party die, u can still manage to stay alive and res them immediately.
if u cast ME, u usually mob train. sometimes u get a mob too huge that u and ur party can't manage. then u either get all of u killed or u all flywinged and get all ppl near u killed. @@
later when u r higher lvl, like lvl 77+ at least, u hv 4k hp and u can heal 2.1k hp per heal. u can basically go solo most of the monsters, even wanderers, by holy lights provided u hv phen clip!!
