Update:
We have a new cable modem installed, and everything is running smoothly. We will see if it was the cause of the problem. ISP will be back on Wed to run some more tests, and see if that has solved the problem.
The backup server is running and the client will be updated to point to the new server.
Update:
It appears to be a faulty cable modem. We will be installing the new one shortly. This will cause a minor glitch in the login servers. However, we are also moving the backup server online at the same time. So, after we are done, hopefully the login server issues will diminish.
The cable people will be back on Wed to run some more tests on the system to be sure that the hardware is working correctly.
