i tried this and watch as my spy followed a jedi and found that 99% of the time i was not close enough to steal from the NPC. your character follows and stays a good 5 to 8 metres from your following target, this puts you eve further away from the target you're trying to steal from

I don't have a spy at the moment so I can't test this but I wonder if the following change will help any:

So, if i had a macro called AFKSteal

/Follow *players Name*
/pause 1;
/Assist *players Name*
/pause 1;
/follow;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/m AFKSteal;
