There is no I win template. It depends what you want to use it for.
You want to be a tank and rush into the middle of a battle and hold the lines while the others behind you deal the damage, then you go for a tank template.
If you want to do hit and run damaging attacks, then you go for a damage template.
Depends also if you PVP or PVE. Who you intend on finghting and so on. What may work agaisnt one person may not work agaisnt another. It depends on their template too.
I went for a tank, with all light side, no extra attacks except saber throw, but i didnt go for the extended saber throw lines. I didnt get force run, mind trick or any dark side.
Now that template is much lower on damage than a Darkside temp, but with high agility along with it, i can take a lot of damage.
Though one on one in a duel, everything changes, especially if its a melee duel with another Jedi or a BH.
Its more about finding a template you enjoy, to suit your style, and then get the equipment to go with it.
If you are going for all darkside, then you might be best going for all strength and luck, as well as enhancement lines to critical damage to do insane criticals. You can also get some good buffs and heals from the GCW bases.
All in all, everyone is fairly evenly matched 1 on 1. It comes down to tactics and equipement more than anything and the role you want to play in combat.
Every kid in the Jedi forums asks for "the best". There isnt one. If there was, then everyone would be the same... again.

I have a light and dark side Jedi. For the Dark side I found that I need a LOT more stamina so I don't end up completely drained in the first few seconds of a battle.

Keep one thing in mind- the original Template that you are given, can never be returned to again. This is for the original, and NOT anything subsequent to it. I was told that the original has 'extra' points in it, and respecing will reset you to nuttin, therefore you can never go back to the original.
Wish they had told somebody that before I respec'd my expertise.

Yah the original template did have extra points, but really they were wasted, as you didnt really specialise in anything. Its not much of a loss.
