Where in the real life world do you live? Virginia Beach, Virginia
How long have you played Star Wars: Galaxies? I have played since June 30, 2003, the day after launch. I would have been in the game on launch day, but too many excited people were logging in at the same time!
What other MMOs have you played? I played Dark Age of Camelot for one week just prior to the Star Wars: Galaxies release and then I play Second Life on occasion.
What type of work do you do? I'm an Insurance Counselor.
How long is your typical gaming session when playing Star Wars: Galaxies? It's between 4 and 6 hours, five days a week.
What does a typical Star Wars: Galaxies day consist of for you? As a mayor and association leader, I first catch up on emails and answer them accordingly. Often, people are looking for events, groups and resources so I act as a central hub for in-game communications. Then, I inspect our player city and its environments, look for new buildings on the surrounding area and make notes. I make sure maintenance is paid and the like. Afterwards, I am either decorating or participating in combat events.
What was the race and profession of your very first character? It was a Human Master Dancer from the beginning until the Combat Upgrade, at which time, I tried some combat professions.
What got you into gaming and what sort of games do you like the most? Usually, I like strategy games such as Paradox's Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Age of Empires and the like. What brought me to Star Wars: Galaxies, my first MMORPG, was really the possibility of a real-world simulation in the Star Wars universe. It is fantastic to live in the Star Wars universe, albeit with a civil war going on.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other then playing Star Wars: Galaxies? I enjoy writing, historical research projects, visiting historical sites, museums, traveling, and biking at the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
What is your highest level Character in Star Wars: Galaxies? My highest level is 80. I haven't had the time to grind further yet, with all the events and decorating projects on my plate.
What race and profession is your main character? My main is a Human Elder Politician. I consider Politician as my only real profession. I am classed as a Jedi, though.
What do you like the most about the profession you have chosen for your main character? I have a natural desire to serve my community and have always felt politics and government is a means of facilitating this. Networking and speaking with others in the Sunrunner communities to help make the environment a positive one is important to me. For the Jedi classification, I like how the semi-knightly virtues and semi-religious undertones of light and dark play out. I role play my character as a force sensitive.
What faction is your main character? For role play, it's Naboo Culturalist. It's Imperial faction for convenience.
What is your favorite player owned ship? The VT-49 Decimeter is a very nice ship! It's compact and well proportioned. I do love the yachts, but wish they could be combat upgraded.
What is your favorite ground vehicle? My favorite is an AB-1 two-seater. They are so cute!
How did you choose your main character's name? My character's full name is Irulyna Kylanath de Corrino de Solleu. Irulyn is inspired from Frank Herbert's character, Irulan. I think it is a pretty name. de'Solleu is inspired from the river that runs through the Royal Capital of Theed. I used the French ordinal 'de'(of) in front of it, so that if it was translated literally, it would be Irulan of Solleu. I felt it was fitting, as I truly love the Naboo planet. Kylantha (which is written in the bio page) is in honor of the Queen, and Corrino is her paternal heritage.
Which professions in Star Wars: Galaxies have you NOT played? It would be easier to list the professions I have played rather then not! I have only been a politician, dancer, fencer, swordsman, and now Jedi. I have not tried any other profession so far in my Galaxies career.
What is your favorite expansion? The space expansion, Jump to Lightspeed.
What is your favorite planet? Naboo
What is your favorite npc? Queen Kylantha, of course! I am a Naboo Culturalist!
Which expansion do you like the least? It's Mustafar, due to the events surrounding it.
Which planet do you like the least? It's definitely Dantooine. Although purple is my favorite color, I get headaches from the colors there. The savannah-like quality of the other vegetation is nice though.
Which npc do you like the least? That would be Admiral Declann, who currently is placed where Queen Kylantha's throne would be.
What is the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters? I think it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million or so. When the BARC speeders came out, I had an ex-guild member take advantage of a new player by taking their barc. I bought it from him and gave it back to the new player.
Do you have an item you no longer use but keep around for nostalgic reasons? If so what is it and why do you keep it? I have three travel tickets from Theed to the city of Athena Beach, the first city I helped found. They are my most valued possessions and are displayed on one of my ships.
What do you like best about Star Wars: Galaxies? It's a "real world simulation" in the Star Wars universe.
What do you get out of playing Star Wars: Galaxies? I get a sense of community with like-minded people.
Describe your best experience playing Star Wars: Galaxies? We had a Trade Federation Invasion re-enactment once, with the Trade Federation invading a festival we had in our city. Many people attended and many friendships were made during that event, and those friendships have lasted for years.
Do you run or work for a Star Wars: Galaxies Fan Site? I do not, but Role Players of Sunrunner is an excellent fan site that highlights many events planned on Sunrunner by community members. Role Players of Sunrunner.
