Good News!!!!
It is almost ready to be released!!!
Unfortunatly, it will be similar to the daoc rt chat logger in that it will need to be patched after every client patch but it works.
I am doing some fine tuneing (stability problems).
But did I say it works!!!
Very shortly now.

I'm excited! I started working on breaking the packets down, but looks like you are way ahead of me, so I'll put on the brakes!
Why will it need to be patched after each client patch - are they changing the code that often?
Any details on the encoding will be great too - just to play around
Thanks a lot!!
Rich

[:-apple] Yes! Awesome.
My curiosity is piqued though...Is this going to be some kind of event driven code like winsock (where some dataarrival event would trigger your 'hooked' code)?
Or is it going to be a round-robbin type buffer you query for what you want, essentially turning the chat window into a text buffer someplace?

Sure. I've got it logging pretty much all chat text including emotes and combat. Trying to fine tune it so that it also logs critical failures, etc.
Making very good progress. Bout another week or so and I'll have it ready to release. (going out of town better part of this next week so will be after that)

Wyv- thank you! Awesome!
Is there anyway you can release it as it is today so I can start coding against the log and then in a week patch it?
If not, no big deal, but wanting to get rolling with my core scripting.
Thanks,
Rich

I cant wait too. I wondered if it was poss for the change that is required after each patch to be pushed out to a registry entry/ini file (assuming its just a memory address) so you dont need to re-compile all the time.
Chatlog in SWG sucks atm if you crash or /quit then most of the time it doesnt flush the log to disk so next time you log on its all gone.

Hey HyvernX! Any word on the RT Logger for SWG? I have most of my code ready, waiting to read the log to make it really intelligent!
Thanks!

Wyv,
Maybe Im being picky, but can you build in a few checkboxes to filter some messages?
You said you've got it logging pretty much all chat text including emotes and combat...
Are they typecoded in some way that would make certain easy to ignore/exclude?

Just wanted to update everybody on my status. I am finishing up moving the reads from a polling to an event driven chat log. The plugin will be memory based at first and WILL require patching every SWG patch. I have limited it currently to only a couple of memory locs, so it should be an easy/quick patch though.
