This is the idea that originally had me searching for XU again (havent used it for over a year in DAoC hoping I can get my reg. key back).

Basically the tusken camp N of wayfar is packed from about 3pm - 3am est. I can just sit there and hit 'tab' to select a target then hit my macro for /follow /berserk /attack and watch the xp roll in. Basically I think it will be easy to create a macro to do this for me, hit tab and hit f1 to run my in game macro but one major thing (and a few minor) are preventing this and I cannot figure a way around them.

The first is the fact that 'tabbing' to find a MOB only works if the camera is pointed in the general direction of that mob and i cannot find anyway to rotate the camera with just the keyboard. The only way i can rotate the camera is to push the mouse against the left or right side of the screen but im probably overlooking something very easy here.

The second recognizing a target. When I find a MOB using tab nothing shows up on the log so even if triggers are working how will I know to run the attack macro?

Thirdly is getting incapped or killed. This should be easy enough to solve with triggers, one for incap where the char sits for x seconds another for being killed where the macro just stops or selects the cloning facility and makes a sound and stops or something.

Now that I have finished writing this the macro for this seems a bit more daunting but I would appreciate any input and will try to work on it as soon as i get XU up and running again.

I think with the default keys 1 and 3 on the numpad turn the character left and right. Don't know if that's what you meant, but hope it helps.

Have you tried recording the mouse movements?

Still working on triggers.

im going to start working on it tonight. It just seems clumsy to have the mouse bashing against the edges of the screen if there were a key command to swivel the camera. For some reason SOE in their infinite wisdom make you re-subscribe if you use the 1 month option every month so this morning as i loaded up XU with SWG for the first time i was met with having to re-subscribe which I cant do till later tonight.

If all you want to do is raise skills then head to tatooine. There is a Rebel base between Bestine and Anchorhead. In there there are two small buildings at the back. The Righ hand one has a bugged spawnpoint that just keeps on spitting out thugs. Bound my best special attack and the /loot command to two hotkeys then recorded a keyboard macro that presses tab, then my attack then loot. Put that on a loop and just sit back and watch :-)

Obviously you get a lot of chat spam when your looting goes off and you are still in combat but it works a treat.

It might be helpfull if people that had ummm hints like drdeath to include what server they are playing on since every server might not have the same bug.

well I got the camera issue worked out by just putting my char into 1st person and using the keys to turn him but I have begun to think it is not possible due to other variables such as spawns within your target range but outside the camp and sometimes bugged MOBs that spawn in the walls that you can target but cant kill. Drdeath what server are you on and does anyone else have tips like this for other servers or other locations?

i tried drdeaths tip and it works great on bloodfin. some other person was there but she just stood there waiting for the things to hit her and she would auto-attack back but once i showed up and figured out how to setup the macro for max efficiency i am getting about 2k xp every 5 min which is almost 25k per hour not to mention the money which isnt great but not bad for being afk. for those of you who dont play bloodfin i highly recommend it, for those that do i would suggest not trying to beat the speed and effeciency of my macro hahaha, i just need to get a cheap droid for XP bonus.

drdeath or hendrix, can you post the loc coordinates of the rebel base that's between anchorhead and bestine? Or better yet, the loc of where you sit your char to execute the macro?
Thanks!

I have a Shooting macro that is easy and almost stupid but works great.

I have used it in jedi caves I will take turns with a RL friend. I just pick 1 random person (usually my friend if he is on) target them then start my macro.

My macro just hits F5, wait 2s, F6, wait 2s, loop

F5 = Assit F6 = attack

I orginally had the time set at 10s but i noticed if you are attacking something and clicked attack again it would stop attacking so i made it faster to stay with timing of gun.

i may try something like this now for tuskens since our previously mentioned spot got fixed in the latest patch. And I quote: "Fixed a problem where some static spawns respawned much too quickly (making for people camping there and killing the thing in question over and over)." So now its time for real macroing hehe. I got about 400k xp and 100k+ creds out of that spot tho, it was great.

So would u suggest first person as a much eaiser way to move around to fix the targeting issue than 3rd person? Also I read that if you move the camera to top down and zoom out in 3rd person you get a 360 degree of coverage with tab but I have yet to try it out personally.

The problem I see with Dr. Death's macro idea...

Keyboard macro --- Tab --- /Attack --- /loot

Is that many times when you loot something you get an item. Even if you start off with an empty backpack, you have the chance of getting 60 items in a row off of the mobs, so the macro will be innefficient after that. So, when your backpack gets full it will try to loot the corpse, but it will not be able to because your pack is full. Does the macro stop then, or will it just tab over to the next mob?

The other issue is that many mobs like this, you know the one shot kinds, will not respawn until you loot them. Or if they do it takes about 5 minutes. So, if you are full and cannot loot, you may end up waiting for 5 minutes per kill.

The macro will work great as long as you are running it somewhat attended. But when you go unattended for any period of time, I can see it goofing up.

Hey Dr. Death, does that spawn point spit them out even if you don't loot them? If so, that is something that I would definitely be interested in. =) This could also be used outside of Mos Eisley where small mobs like gorgs, scavenger rats, and rills are. They all spawn in groups in a 15x15 area. So, hit that 15x15 area and run the macro and it will probably give decent XP for being unattended.

Is there a way to set items to auto delete in your pack?

Arvida
