Has anyone been able to figure out how to get around the critical failure problem? The loop macro works FANTASTIC until you hit a critical failure and then you get a small pop up window that wont let you continue unless your acknowledge it. Needless to say this completley farks up the macro.
Any Suggestions out there???
Maddyn
BTW...
I noticed that several people complaining about how slow the cursor moves when recording a macro and i think i know why. SWG's FPS cap is 30 FPS, when your out in the open your drawing all the terrain and other stuff and then you open your inventory you have all that spinny stuff and thats a big FPS hit. Then you activate the program and it takes CPU and RAM and whammo another FPS hit. What i did to get around this was to first ativate the window where it shows my FPS and sit INSIDE a building and look at the floor. Make sure your away from any people or moving objects. Your FPS should be around 25ish. Then arrange your inventory window to list view and arrange the window to where only your crafting tools are shown. This makes the recording of the macro MUCH easier. Its still not as fast as regular but its a lot lot better.

If you include a quick ENTER KEY press, it will close the error dialog, and your other clicks will just do nothing.
You can also turn off notifications in the options for things like ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CONTINUE, etc.

I just use the enter key to select whatever I am crafting.. like highlight it with one click then hit enter then double click on resources then hit enter a couple more times. So far this has helped me avoid any hangup's with critical failures.

I tried doing this last night. Enter didn't seem to get me out of a failure. It would just take me into a loop that wouldn't do anything.

To solve the problem I started my item and put in the rescources needed then hit enter.
Then I hit enter a few times to finish the item.
Then after that I move the mouse to the spot were the critical falure ok button would be and click once.
So if there is a critical falure my mouse click will clear it and the macro will go on.
This has worked for me with no hang ups just rember to turn off auto afk in options so you dont get kicked by the program.
I have used this macro to get over 10k exp in crafting.

God bless the Sticky note.
I'll try that. Ill try a complex item too. That should give me a higher failure rate.

Well, i think I have it working.
I marked the spot on the screen where the critical failure button was. Also, there is a button that denotes a bad ingredient misture. I also marked that.
Seems to be running ok now. Im going to leave it running overnight to see how it works.

To turn off the auto afk, is that done in the options part of SWG or is there a feature in XU? ALso if our macro includes mouse movements that are on loop back, will that prevent us from afk and being kicked?

Just thought I'd let you all know it worked perfectly! Woke up this morning and I had made over 25k crafting xp.
Was never afk because the system shows you as active with the mouse moving.
Thanks all! This is the greatest program ever!

I had a similar issue w/ failures. I did a combo of the above post
1) single click the item to craft and press enter
2) double click resources to add them
3) enter enter enter (would make and item)
4) esc esc esc (will cancel an item you fail to craft and close the crafting session)
for mouse location, I used a dry erase marker on my screen (I have some issues w/ the function keys not starting my crafing session in record mode).

Been using the method just above, to good effect with only slight variations as trying to rely on keyboard shortcuts as much as possible:
(pre macro manual run setting desired component and ensuring set to 'practice' mode)
1) Function Key shortcut for desired tool
2) Enter
3) Double click resources
4) Enter - Enter - Enter
5) Three second pause *
6) Click spot on screen that equates to a critical failures "OK" #
7) ESC - ESC - ESC - ESC - ESC - ESC
1) Function Key shortcut for desired 2nd tool
2) Enter
3) Double click resources
4) Enter - Enter - Enter
5) Three second pause *
6) Click spot on screen that equates to a critical failures "OK" #
7) ESC - ESC - ESC - ESC - ESC - ESC ~
<<F12 end macro>>
I have found that slow and steady wins the raise. Don't try to time each and every screen to the millisecond, allow a second or so for each screen to draw before proceeding with next step, ie, the next <ENTER> or what have you. The time gained in fractions of a second on each page are lost when your macro !@#$%^&* out at 3am due to the SWG memory leak whilst you are fast asleep and you don't find out till 8am when you wake up.
* I include this roughly 3 second pause as SWG has a memory leak which I had noticed earlier whilst all day sampling, so after 8 hours of play my 29fps system is down to 20fps and after 18 hours I will be down to 9fps. This is also why I leave a bit of time (ie: 1 sec) after each screen before proceeding to next. Alter this depending on how long you plan on leaving the macro running without restarting the SWG client.
# I use post it note in short term. I have sticky taped a peice of paper to the top of my monitor with the spot marked as well, this let's me know where to place the post it note without checking each time on an actual critical failure. In normal use this sheet of paper is folded up, I just pull it down when I need to place the post-it again.
~ I sample at the same time so place in 2 extra <ESC> other than the four necassary. First 4 to exit any crafting screen, 5th to exit any sampling popup and 6th to get rid of any group invitation request as I don't turn this off (keep forgetting to turn it on again before seeking training off players).
