For the past several days, SWG has been "locking up" when I attempt to record a macro using XUnleashed. Oddly, it's not that the program itself is locked/frozen- it's only the keyboard and mouse that no longer work (not recognized within the SWG client). I'm not even able to Alt+Tab out of the program; the only way "out" is to Ctrl+Alt+Del. When I re-enter SWG after doing so, everything is relatively normal- except the macro is still recording, and XUnleashed doesn't recognize the F12 key.
This has only been happening the past few days... I have my Anti-Virus software disabled, so that shouldn't be it; I have made no other changes (to my system or my SWG congfiguration) during that time. XU worked like a charm before this- the only thing that I can think of is that a recent patch may be wreaking havoc. Is this happening to anyone else? Either way- can anyone offer any advice to solve the problem?

I can check if a recent patch is the culprit.
In the meantime, you might reboot your computer and see if that helps.
If you have any plugins related to SWG, ie the RT Chat logger, you should try uninstalling them as they are patch specific and could be causing problems also.

The last time I re-recorded a macro was about a week ago and it worked fine for me. I haven't tried since the latest couple of patches came out for 3.0 (RC3 & 4). Oh yeah, I've been using 3.0 (with all its warts) since it first came out.

I too am having exactly the same problem as the poster, further to this F12 doesnt seem to do anything either.
This is the first time Ive tried using it and have followed the exact same instructions as a fellow user who is having no problems.
I have tried rebooting, standing up, shutting down virus checkers etc, but with no joy at all.
The second I hit "record" the game "freezes" but continues to run but I am unable to imput to the keybord or mouse unless I ctrl-alt-delete. I dont have to shut the game down after this, but after that point hitting record doesnt do anything.
Grateful for any help, cheers.

Do you have macafee installed? If so, kill the process updateUI.exe.

I do have Mcafee installed (or did), and updateUI.exe is not running at all (its not even a recognised program). I also switched off the firewall completely and uninstalled VirusScan.
I tried after this and its exactly the same.
Im running WindowsXP pro, if thats any help.

Check your running processes with ctrl-ins-delete and look on the processes tab.
You might also try killing the explorer process just to see if it is explorer related.
Do you have anything else running in the background/task bar/system tray?

Just have my connection, SWG and Xun running. When using Ctrl-ALT-delete and checking the processes, updateUI.exe is definately not there.

Not to sound like a doofus, but where do you disable these services? If you mean in the running processes tab of ctrl-alt-delete, I did that to no avail. I even went so far as to completely uninstall Mcafee and no joy.
I have Win XP pro running.
Cheers
