well, it works. is it worth all the trouble? no. the weapons will be converted back to normal stats, unless someone is able to find a way to either store them or keep the stats permanent.
So, it is confirmed, and it does work as the OP says, unfortunately it's a temporary, non-repeatable quest.

Yes i dont think it is worth the trouble at all. There are alot of quest to do to get up to the assualt on the avatar. And it took me some time to do it. Then i only got a few hours of fun with the weps lol. So ya it does work but i dont realy think its worth it at all

these do change when you log out.. BUT
There is a 1200 DPS CL 1 Knife that Drops that would be good for a person wanting to grind a new toon for the day

I say this is a YES.. If you want to level a brand new toon go get the CL1 1200 damage knife and trade it to your niib toon.. sure.. its only good till you log out.. but a cl1 toon with a 1200 DPS knife will be able to level VERY FAST!
And so far here is what I have tried to keep the stats:
Droid - No go
Bank - No Go
Vendor - NO Go
bag on a vendor - nogo
in a house - no go
in a house then pack up the house - No go
on a vendor in a house pack up the house - no go
on a packed up vendor - no go
Deleted and had a csr restore the item - no go
in a droid deleted the droid and had it restored - no go

I just threw them on my vendor for 99999999.... They only degrade if you bring 'em off... But, otherwise, it's nice getting tells asking where in the world you got the.

Using this as a scam wouldent be a very good idea. What would you do if you got that uber wep then it goes back normal? lol They will most likely report you for scaming then you will get banned and plus the exploit may get fixed all together. So just my idea on that
