I noticed this a few days ago and did a little testing with it not sure when it started. In previous patches when you aborted a mission it would automatically clear the lair and all enemies associated with it. This does not happen anymore. Now if the mission has spawned and you're within range the lair will stay there until the next server restart, so here's what you can do!
If you're a jedi have your friends help you out by grabbing 2 missions and getting them to spawn and checking for NPC's for you. Have them abort the mission while in range and either /findfriend them or have them send you the waypoint. You can take care of it at your leasure.
Now this same trick could be used to totally screw over jedi too by taking NPC missions. Imaging taking Mokk/Janta missions and leaving them out there at all of those favorite Jedi grind areas. Do it enough and they'll either be on the terms or get frustrated and go somewhere else.
As a side note a lot of people seem to have forgotten that wild lairs don't have the name of the creature associated written on the lair (player mission seething bol lairs say "a seething bol lair" and a wild spawn would say "a pile or rocks") so you can easily tell if someone just abandoned their mission because of NPC's.
