This exploit is for the Clone Relics quest given to you by Mort in the Dearic cantina on Talus . The player taking the mission for the Katarn armor MUST have the Rage of the Wookies expansion, otherwise the NPC that issues you the mission will not speak to you.
There is no need to have a veteran toon, or two accounts. The trick here is to create a character on any server, then create a second character on the same server. A friend can help you do this quickly, and you'll need his help fighting a few NPC's. The NPC's are CL 28.
Once you've completed the quest and recieved the Katarn armor trade it to your friend, log out, and delete the character you just used.
Following this, log in on your first character and get the armor back from your friend.. before he steals it!
The purpose of the first character is just to hold onto the armor you've collected while you use the second to get more sets.
After you're all done trading the armor back to your first character, log out. Create another character on the same server, and run the mission again.
I've done this about thirty times and it usually takes about 20-25 minutes to complete.
If you're doing this exploit like I've just detailed you'll be recieving Neutral Katarn Armor as your quest reward - that's the blue and white set. But there are also faction sets for Imperials and Rebels. The Imperial set is black and green, and the rebel set is red.
To recieve these sets of armor instead of the neutral set you must first become a faction member of either the Rebels or the Imperials. The quickest way to become an Imperial is to take your character to Bestine, Tatooine. Here you can find a Recruiter for the Imperial Navy and simply by talking to him he'll allow you to join. Wallah! You're now an Imperial - and you've skipped all the faction grinding and killing required to join them. You'll also recieve a TIE fighter to fly around in using the space terminals inside the starport - so you won't need to have any extra credits to travel. After you recieve your ship just stop talking to the Imperial Recruiter - you don't need him anymore.
If you want the Rebel Katarn Armor set as a reward use the same steps as join the Imperials, but instead travel to Corellia. Here you can find a Rebel Space Recruiter who will also allow you to quickly become a faction member.
If you have trouble finding either of these recruiters you can press CTRL+V to open your planet map and on the right hand side look under "Trainer", you will find a list of their locations.
Following these steps travel to Deadric, Talus and complete the mission just as you had before. Only this time you'll recieve a cool set of faction armor instead of neutral.
In addition to the sets of Katarn you'll also recieve holograms, one each time you complete a mission. The neutral missions give you a hologram of a YT-1300, the Rebel missions give you an X-Wing, and the Imperial missions give you a TIE Fighter. These are very valuable and sell for 2 to 3 million credits on the vendors.
