so this is my first post: so bare with me.

normally if you are let's say and imperial if you want to go rebel this process requires a five day wait period...but if you aren't trained as a pilot or willing to give up your current piloting skills there is a way to change your on the ground faction.

first you need to speak to the imp/reb recruiter to request a permanent leave from current faction

second you need to get 5000 faction or whatever you are in teh negative

third you need to speak with an faction pilot recruiter of desired faction change

then poof, rebel

please post replies

the trick i've just found out,(since my guild pretty much did this together), is you go neutral pilot first, then rebel...this allows you to avoid the 5 day wait period.

This is how I did it tonight:

First I resigned from the Imperial faction. Next, I resigned from being an RSF freelance master pilot. I then saw a Rebel pilot trainer (any squadron works) and joined up as a Rebel pilot without a hitch. This changed me into a full member of the rebel faction, without waiting 5 days.

After that, I dropped Rebel pilot and went into the smuggler's alliance (freelance pilot). I stayed a member of the Rebel faction throughout, even after resigning from the Rebel flight squadron.

On a side note, faction is useless and don't worry about getting 5200 faction anymore. That went out the window with the new system and faction is meaningless and is not related to GCW points.

It is a yay to changing using pilot trainers. The only part that is incorrect is needing the 5k faction in addition to using pilot trainers to convert from Imperial to Rebel or vice versa.

I think perhaps this does not work for switching from reb to imp. I just tryed to do so and am unable to because im not a member of the military.

Sorry, haven't been online for a long time but it is a YEAH.

It works well, problem is when you are Ace Pilot

Not a big big deal, just keep in mind heavy version of your starter ship with cert10 parts will still be usable when you come back to this faction and you'll earn XP 3 times faster.
