I understand that, but i dont want to spend say 45 minutes there killing lair after lair after lair and find out that on average you waited an hour to get them to spawn ya know? Because then I will never get a spawn of them.

Would you say like after 20 lairs there should be a spawn or move on? Any advice would help so Im not wasteing time or not investing enough. Thank you in advance!

Well generally I look for somewhere full of factional NPC. As in those areas are usually BS.

Imperials spawn to the south east . North from the Imp base. So the Rebs should go there, as the Imps cant clear the spawns.

Rebels spawn north west, up around the beach to the north and down the west side of the planet.

Alright so as an imperial I am supposed to go to the north west where there are occasional blacksun spawns and rebels everywhere, and clear out the rebel NPC's and lairs?

Im not a noob, im a 3 year vet, just trying to understand what to do before I kill more time doing what isnt working.

Thats correct. Go north, find a nice clear spot with plenty of lairs, and kill everything within a 200-300m radius.

Just keep running that circle and killing. That will make the lairs cycle. You are better to be grouped with someone who is doing the same thing, so you can get 5-7 BS instead of 2-3 per lair, but this does make the other lairs bigger after the second pass also.

So on average blacksun should spawn after you do the first pass?

No, its completely random. You might get no BS for 30mins then get BS on every lair twice.

Its quicker, because you dont have to go anywhere, and you can get more BS to spawn. You also dont need to worry about finding the lairs, as you know where they are.

Im sorry if you were looking for an easy way, this might still take you hours, but you will kill more BS more often this way.

It might be spiders>rebels>spiders>klikniks>rebels>BS>BS>sspiders

Each spawn spot is going to cycle the various mobs randomly.

Alright sir thank you very much for the help. I will give the above method a try.

I wasnt looking for a easy way, Im a 3 year vet and know the hardship of grinds and force exp exchange, this sounds easy compaired to that. I just didnt want to waste a ton of time doing it wrong. Thanks again, I will try it out.

In an hour and a half i got 3 spawns of blacksun (2-3 per spawn). Then I went along the coast and in 20 minutes found 4 spawns... why is that?

Yes does work. I got about 20 bases and several suits of BS armour doing this in a matter of 2 weeks. Going there for a few hours each day.

Also been doing it this way since preCU. This is how all the lairs work in the game. So it has to work.

1. Make sure you group, so you get 5+ BS spawn per lair after the first cycle.

2. Find a clear spot with loads of spawns and make a WP in the middle.

You do have to use the parts of the planets where BS are known to spawn. Such as N/NW or SE corner.

If you find somewhere with a BS then thats even better. As you know it will work.

Now this doesnt make BS spawn with every lair, it still takes time, but you can run around that 200m very fast killing everything. Especially if there are 2 of you. The faster you do this the faster the lairs cycle and the faster BS will spawn.

This is a darn sight faster than running all over random parts of the planet and finding a spawn of 2-3 BS.

Doing this is the fastest way, and you dont have to go anyway or fight anyone for spawns.

I did this 2 days ago with my spy and got a spawn of 5 BS eveyr 15minutes. Sometimes two of those lairs in that 200m would spawn BS at the same time. Then yes sometimes you dont get a spawn for quite a while, but the time/spawn ratio is still better this way.

TBH guys. I could careless if you did it this way or not. Though you wont find a quicker way.

We used to do it the usual way of riding around until we find spawns. Jump off the swoop and kill, then go find some more. Though thats what everyone else on the server is doing too. On Bria thats a lot.

The other problem with the riding around randomly part is that you only get 2-3 BS per lair, unless you lucky enough to go somewhere that a group has already cleared and its just cycled.

Yes this does work, a friend of mine gave me some wp to a spawn where factional rebel npcs spawn along with those nasty spiders. I got about 40 Bs to spawn in about an hour.

My guild recently posted a similar strategy, though they named a specific spot. One of the things they mentioned, however, was to keep one Black Sun Henchman alive. . . in this way, the Black Suns will keep spawning over and over, with no other placeholders popping in.

This is not entirely true. Keeping one alive will allow you to get an additional spawn from the original, BUT, eventually the server will call it a dead spawn (usually after 2 or 3 rounds) and the spawn will disappear. There appears to be a timelimit from the time you kill the first Black Sun to the time the server wipes the spawn.

One method is to use a group. Killing spawns while grouped will yield spawns of 5 Black Suns, instead of 3.

In reality, there are many methods to the madness of killing Black Suns, and it's all dependent on how you are able to play.

If you can group- do so, you'll get 5 BS's in a spawn.
If you can't- go Combatant, and kill factional NPC's, gain FP's and clear spawns.
Travel around, using a macro:

/tar Black;
/pause .5;
/macro targetBlack

(If you use the above macro, place another on the toolbar with:)
/dump

(Once you lock on to a spawn, dump the targetting macro, and restart it after the lair is dead.

I like the travel/macro method. I bounce around from various waypoints where I have found lots of spawns in the past, and the macro helps find them when they have yet to appear on the overhead map.

As far as staying in one spot- sure, you can do that, but I don't really think it matters. Previous posters have said they've hunted the same area for an hour and got no BS's to spawn, others claim they get more this way. I suspect the truth is anybodies guess.

The only thing that is for sure to work- Killing more Black Suns will yield a greater chance of looting a Jet Pack Base or various Bounty Hunter Armor pieces. Killing spawns clears a spot in the area for a BS spawn, but does not gaurantee that the BS will spawn.
