Something from a guildmate in game.
1) Get a pearl / crystal
2) Get an entertainer crafting buff (The exact one you can test to find out)
3) Tune the pearl / crystal
4) It will be 10% better than normal.

I can't confirm it, crystal tuning is kinda random. There's no control to base it off of.

At first glance it appears sound. However, the game's code for tuning a crystal isn't the same as crafting it. The isp buffs work on crafting items. When you tune a crystal/pearl, in the code it's just binding the item to your character and reveiling the hidden stats. Simply put, tuning and crafting are coded differently.
The next question you'll ask yourself is most likely; how bout "sniffing" to find the hidden stats of a crystal/pearl before you tune it? I've tried. The information is saved server side. Only when you initiate the tune process will the info be sent to your screen (after logging it in their database in conjunction with your character). So there is no way to tell the stats until you tune it (stats being serial #, dam, fc, spd) although they are already there on the server. They were logged when they were created, aka when you opened the loot window and saw it.

This is no longer true, don't think it ever was either. They used to say, get a buff, kneel by a force shrine, say abracadabra and your tune will be awesome, but its not true. When you loot a pearl or a crystal the damage values will be determined then. You cannot affect them in any way. This is fact.

Nay.
Tunes has always been random and these things never have worked. There is no magical hat, shirt, time of day, buff or anything like that to boost the tune on a pearl or crystal.
The only use for a buff, and it is a weaponsmith buff, is while actually crafting a lightsaber. Other than that, buffs are useless for tuning.
