I don't know about doing this on purpose... I had a trader that I hardly touched (been away from the game since 2 mos into NGE) that got way behind on vendor fees and the game deleted my vendor. I had offers from other players on the vendor when it was deleted (nothing spectacular, a Cloak of the Kursk, robes of the storm lord, katarn knuckles). They had offered these to me at ridiculous prices, so I never bit. Anyway, I submitted a ticket about my lost vendor, and when it was restored to me I had the offered items available... didn't have to pay for them, I just had them. It seems that the restored vendor automatically gave me the items... There's no way I'm going to try and do this intentionally, I have a feeling that the second time you do this it may be a red flag...
*But I think that if you have an amazing piece of loot offered to you (and you don't feel like paying for it) you could destroy your vendor, have it restored and keep the loot. Once.
*I guess if you wanted to go the all out scam method you could place an ad bot spamming ridiculous offers for certain items you've always wanted, and when you have a few offers destroy, restore and see if you have the items available... Once.
It seems risky to try this more than one time (two at the most)... but here it is! Have fun...
My two pennies...

Hehe... alright. Try paying up maintenance on any lot and leaving the game for a while. While you are gone, your creds are still used towards maintenance, when the creds run out and you pool is dry the lot is maintained by your bank, once that's out then the lot is destroyed at that point (not at the time you decide not to renew your subscription). All I know is that when I read that they'd give me a free chance to return and test new stuff in SWG I decided to bite. When I returned, I noted that my richest character no longer had any cash, and that the single vendor I left active had been destroyed. Maybe I got lucky, but they did restore my vendor, and the bug happened as I described above.
*If you don't believe it, don't try it... But I think I have submitted enough decent material to this site that I am allowed to be a little put off when someone calls me a liar. I understand challenging a post, but try to be a grown up about it, or at least a little less rude. I do not think there is much risk in trying this (one time) if you have a vendor and someone you trust to offer an item... If it does not work, I am willing to dismiss my experience as a fluke. If it does work, then I think I have stumbled on a decent bug. That is exactly why we submit material for approval or disapproval, please at least give it a try before you pull the BS card.
Hope we can still be buds!
After all it's just my 2 pennies!

I say /nay I took a break from SwG for a while and my storage vendor got deleted with some very valuable items on it (JmC, GbF's ect.) so I submitted a ticket an I got some response along the lines of "You should of payed enough maintence to your vendor before you took an extended leave from Star Wars Galaxies". I might of just had a grumpy GM, but it iddn't work for me.

That is a valid example of what part of this was a stroke of luck on my part, but it still does not discount the fact that one can delete and immediately restore a vendor to test the trick. The trick wasn't the restoration of the vendor, it was the ability to get the offered items for free afterwards. I admit that i lucked out by getting my vendor restored, but that was not the trick. Anyway thanks for your input! Try it out if you wish...
Thanks!

Actually had similar happen to me..
Had a vendor that i accidently deleted instead of something else in my datapad, put in a ticket and got it back a few days later..
Everything that was on it before was still there, except at price of 0 credits..
Including the stuff that was offered to it....

There was a exploit like this awhile back, You would have people offer items to your vendor and then Delete the Vendor, And ask for it to be restored. They caught on to it very fast, And retrieved every item that was "Lost". So Basicly if it is anything of major value, Say a Mando helm, Liquids or such, It will be returned... Just my say on it. Got myself some mando off that sploit back in the day....And then the GM's broke my heart and returned it lol

That being said, I wonder if this could be combined with a server transfer...? You might get away with it then (take valuable items off restored vendor and then transfer)... don't object serials reset when you do that?? Another little add to this trick... Maybe?
Curious...
