VSOH - Updated Server Merge Information : Vanguard News

Hi folks,

I know many of you are eager for an update on the server merges. Hilsbury, Thunderaxe, Woefeather, and Gulgrethor were all brought down this morning to be merged into a new server, Xeth. The initial result showed everything to be a success.

Every department involved in this process has been closely monitoring the server merges, and briefly during final testing we received some reports of the naming check not working properly. We made the decision to keep the server down, in order to correct this issue, rather than stand the chance of our loyal players losing their respected names.

Our dedicated team identified the issue, created a fix, and at this moment they are implementing it. The fix will take at least an hour and a half, with another hour in QA before we know if everything is working correctly. If the fix passes QA's smoke test, then the servers should be brought up at that time. If additional downtime is needed, we will be sure to update the forums and VGPlayers with that information. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we continue to smooth out the kinks with the first sever merge.
