Today I am proud to announce that Vanguard Radio will be expanding into a multi-game mmo radio station called Uberguilds Radio. We’ve been given the oppurtunity, from our sponsors the Uberguilds Network(
www.Uberguilds.org), to expand our great radio station to a broader audience and at the same time keep the high level of quality that we had at Vanguard Radio. Uberguilds Radio will be the radio station for the community, going to great lengths to put the spotlight on those who make the games we love so much great.
When I started Vanguard Radio I never thought I’d be in the position where I am now with the station. Just over the past 5 months we became an official affilate fansite for Vanguard, interviewed two developers, released many podcasts, and peaked out at 543 listeners the day that Vanguard launched. We’ve made our impact on the Vanguard community and we’ve gained the respect of many.
It is with excitement that I come to you announcing the launch of Uberguilds Radio, Saturday June 9th at 12pm EST (5pmGMT). Joining me on launch day will be the same staff you know and love from Vanguard Radio while we broadcast all day in celebration of this grand event.
On Saturday the Vanguard Radio stream will transition over to being the Uberguilds Radio stream and the website will no longer be active as we’re moving everything over to Uberguilds Radio. At Uberguilds Radio we plan to cover a group of MMOs, starting with a focus on Vanguard, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, to the upcoming Warhammer Online, Tabula Rasa, and Age of Conan. In the future we may expand to cover other games, but this is our set of MMOs when we launch. We will have DJ’s that focus on a game of their choosing, giving game news in their broadcasts and discussing game topics.
We have hope that you will join us and invite your friends to enjoy the first day of broadcasting for Uberguilds Radio. In the future we promise up to date game news both on our website and on the radio, interviews with bloggers, fansite owners, podcasters, community members, and game developers. All of this will be done with interactivity with the community through our chat room, conference calls, messanger services, and more. It is our dream to involve the community with the radio station as much as possible to make it your radio station that you can be proud of.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday! Please tell all your friends to tune in and party down with the staff of Uberguilds Radio!
Sincerely,
Sam “QforQ” Houston
Director of Uberguilds Radio
