Ok, I've followed all the instructions regarding running vgextreme in vista and still have a problem with the program not running. I get the following error:
Description:
Stopped working
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: VGExtreme.exe
Application Version: 1.17.0.0
Application Timestamp: 46c24291
Fault Module Name: kernel32.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.0.6001.18000
Fault Module Timestamp: 4791a76d
Exception Code: e0434f4d
Exception Offset: 000442eb
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033
I've made sure I installed exhume, removed exhumehelper.dll, installed vgextreme, reg'ed the exhumehelp.dll and vgehelper.dll, installed the debugger and install .net framework 3.5. Anyone have any more ideas?
Thanks!

Make sure you also have .NET framework 2.0 installed. 3.5 does not necessarily include every function from 2.0
As I do not run Vista, and Jerry Seinfeld has not yet convinced me to do so (he's always looked like an Apple guy to me anyway), I can't help beyond that.
EDIT: shows what little I know about Vista. It ships with .NET 2.0 already. I saw in a search people having problems with this exception (not in VGExtreme necessarily) where this was suggested:
1. Click on the Start menu and choose Control Panel
2. Select the Uninstall a program link in the Programs control panel group
3. In the Programs and Features control panel, click the View installed updates link on the left side of the pane
4. Search for and remove the item named Hotfix for Microsoft Windows (KB110806)
5. Search for and remove the item named Hotfix for Microsoft Windows (KB930264)
6. Search for and remove the item named Hotfix for Microsoft Windows (KB929300)
I think it was written for someone who was running a beta version of Vista, but worth a shot.
