I've been reading some suggestions on mining. Some have said to macro mine ice, since no rats. But for instance, white glaze, which only sells for 77k in JITA doesn't seem worth it for 1 ore every 10mins. How can ice make money? What do most of you mine? On the other hand, I cant see how mining scrodite or yroxers can make any money. So since ice has been said to make you money, can anyone share with me how to make money off of ice? thank you.

Ice can make more money if your refining skills are high and you sell the refined products.
Me and wife mined for 12 hrs Saturday with a Covetor, Retreiver and Itty 5 in a .8 system. We strip mined 2 belts consisting of Pyrox, Scordite, and Veld.
I was testing a script with the Retreiver so I was not full time mining.
She has perfect refine skills. We netted 55mil selling at below market value.
Estimate $75 mil if we had put it on the market for a month. BTW, she kept the ~86000 Noxium.

I made alot of money through mining, Ice sells for about 85 to 95K ISK on the market per a single unit. My mining ship can hold 12K m3, so i can mine 12 units of Ice per a run.
Adds up to alot of money.

typically ice mining nets the most money, decent refining skills are a must for a career miner

Err thats 12000 m3 just in case you were wondering. Pretty easy to get that kinda storage with some expanders etc. But you will hve to ask him what his ship setup is. PM the guy.

Move to 0.0 mine ark and bist, looking at 45M an hour if you do it right, and an iteronV with local hull expanders and gsc's will give you allmost 1.5 jetcans worth of hauling space.

Its easy to say," move to 0.0 space"..not so easy to do.
If your in a corp that is part of a alliance then it s a done deal...otherwise, if you expect to survive you need to be in a corp that is based in 0.0 space.
Why? I would estimate 95% of 0.0 is controlled by one corp or another and if your caught in "thier" space you will be podded.
Now, there are some off the beaten path dead end systems that no one goes to......you could probably mine quite a while without being detected....but sooner or later you have to haul all that expensive ore....back thru all that high traffic protected route
It would piss me off to no end to have 500 mil worth of Bistot or Ark and be podded on the way back to market...

Yeah your best bet is to join an alliance and be tight lipped with what you are doing as they will pod you for macroing as well.

t831757 (!empty($user->lang['WROTE'])) ? $user->lang['WROTE'] : ucwords(strtolower(str_replace('_', ' ', 'WROTE'))): Yeah your best bet is to join an alliance and be tight lipped with what you are doing as they will pod you for macroing as well.
Only if your macro is better than thiers or your not participating in corp mining ops. I know for a fact that the mining corps in the south use macros extensively, especially when doing a corp mining op...now they do tend to get pissed when you run off on your own and strip a belt.
