Pod jumping?
Out the escape hatch at the last second.
If you want to get somewhere in a hurry next to a station do the following.
Have the base selected. Let them think you are coming in. Go ahead and start the docking procedures. But make sure you do so from a distance. You need a few seconds of flight to set things up. Distance depends on how fast or slow your hunk of junk is.
Bring up the eject dialogue box so you have it ready to click on. They you are ready. Now just wait.
A bit longer.
Wait.
Your ship is being towed into station. CLICK!
Your ship will be parked on autopilot of sorts and you will be floating about in space in a pod. Now go ahead and self destruct and appear on the other side of space.
What this does for you:
Saves you time from docking, switching to a shuttle. Undocking and waiting for a ship to blow it self up. Why does it take so long to go boom anyways?
In 0.0 space sometimes the market for shuttles can be a bit crazy. Why waste money on one.

Ditto, this is common knwledge for those in 0.0 space outposts. Only way to keep the POS or Outpost clear.
