Obviously there is an exploit out there that they cannot find. So some A-holes decide that lets kill all crafting so everybody suffers. Make ppl quit the game cause they completely destroyed tradskilling... Prices on items will now skyrocket cause the cost of getting the crafting up high will be too much for many to bare. Is there any good reason they would do this? Oh plz tell me.....

I know there's an exploit that allows you to use all of the level 20 books from your advanced society (outfitter, scholar, craftsman), but that's the only one I'm aware of. All it really buys you is the ability to make all of the basic subs from your society during the 20s.

Merchants will no longer buy extra components or items you crafted for XP. So right now the only way to get crafting XP without an unlimited supply of cash(if you had that, you wouldn't be crafting) is to do the crafting things for your society. Although, you have to be level10 to join a society for those quests.
They say it's temporary until they redo the prices so that stuff can't be made for a profit anymore.

Well it's nice to see that SE aren't the only bunch of idiots. LOL Why not just lower the price NPC's buy items for at least? Better than not being able to sell them at all.

This sux. I just bought 300 soapweed and 300 water and candles to xp on which cost me about 45 silver and there is no way in hell any Player Character is going to buy a bunch of soapweed wash that is only used in some obscure beneficial elixir. Basically all those types of items like soapweed, thyme and sycamore... are completly worthless now. I hope they put some small price back to this stuff so I can at least break even while I xp. Thanks again SOE for another thrust in the !@#$%^&*.

You guys really need to settle down. They are reimplementing vendor buying in todays patch. They said it was temporary on the boards.

For future refrence. It helps to actually read the Announcements on the official forums.
They said yesterday that it was temporary until they could adjust sellback prices. Which they did today.

Yes, but what they are complaining about is that their "free" money is now gone. Virtual E-Bay gone awry.
I mean c'mon, if you could buy a stick of gum for 5 cents and sell it to your buddy for a buck over and over, wouldn't you?

Actually is worse than that.
The only way to raise exps is to craft.
If you craft a crudy sword, and it costs you 5 silver to make it. How many players will buy it?

I personally don't see a problem with this. I dont think you should be making a profit on crafting small things. The idea is to raise your XP in crafting, no need to get rich off it as well.
And yes if it costs you 5 silver to make a cruddy sword, and you can sell it for 2 silver. You eat the other 3 silver as a price you pay to earn XP. Crafting XP should not be profit driven until the higher levels.
If you cannot afford to craft yet then by all means adventure until you can afford to craft. Quit looking for the easy way out and do the work.

They have fixed this so that it does just that. It costs 5 silver to make and you can sell it back for 2-3 silver. That is a much better fix than just having to delete the item for 0.
