Programming question : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

I haven't programmed in the longest time, so if this question a little dumb please humor me.

I know that XML is involved with GUI for EQ2, but if I wanted to create a separate program that provides information within the game is XML the way to go; or do I have learn something else?

what kind of information? game info not usualy availible to the client? (ie. a mobs loc, or somthing), or somthing like an html page for reference?

You may be better asking this question at www.eq2interface.com. The guys there would be the best to ask about the GUI in EQ2.

It would be information from my own server, obviously involving EQ2, but nothing proprietary from SoE. I haven't completly fleshed out the idea so it's hard to really say...but I'll check out the eq2interface site.
