RED LAKE, Minnesota (AP) -- As many as 14 people were injured and some reported killed in a shooting Monday at a Minnesota high school, authorities said.
Tom Lyons, chief deputy for Beltrami County, said up to 14 people were injured in the mid-afternoon shooting at Red Lake High School in far northern Minnesota. Lyons said a suspect was in custody, but he had no other details.
The FBI did not say how many people had been killed and also declined to release details.
Red Lake High School, on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, has about 300 students, according to its Web site.
Audrey Thayer, who lives in Bemidji and works as a researcher for the American Civil Liberties Union's Minnesota chapter, said the reservation was locked down by police with roadblocks.
"They have got it closed off," she said.
The reservation is about 240 miles north of the Twin Cities. It is home to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians.

noctuabundus - you frighten me. If you aren't in the least affected by the fact that 10 high school students were killed in a single event - WHATEVER the event - I advise you to seek some sort of counseling. I dont mean this as a flame or an insult - I mean it as a sincere suggestion.
No - I am not anti videogame violence. I am not anti-gun. I am not surprised at the events, but I still regret that they happened.
*rant on*
Ultimately, this WILL be blamed on violence in the media and/or some other scapegoat (read: RPGs). Hillary Clinton, who recently voiced her support for enforcing regulations on video game violence (think what they do to rap music on the radio, but to all your favorite FPSs), will certainly grab hold of this and hold it up as an 'example' of the effects of desensitizing media.
Unstable people have always, and will always without treatment, acted in unpredictable ways. Violence is not uncommon. Suggesting that playing games causes firearm abuse is stupid - if it was a primary factor, there would be a MAJOR outbreak of this sort of thing - far more children play video games than the reported number of armed violence incidents.
*rant off*

I find it kinda funny that you're frightened by my response. And as for a sincere suggestion, i doubt you really have the slightest concern. I'm not insulted or anything and I'm not being freak or promoting anything of the sort, I'm just being realistic about it. This kids father was a cop, I'm sure he knew how to use the gun and he prolly brought a couple clips, just saying I'm not impressed and everyone is lucky he didn't kill more people. Sorry if I'm a little cold to that matter, but !@#$%^&* happens. Some kid freaked out and did something really stupid, but what are you going to do about it? Its going to happen again some time. I'm not justifying it by any means, but really its just another !@#$%^&* doing something stupid, if it didn't happen then it was probably inevitable to happen at some point. The kid obvious was pretty disturbed and probably wasn't getting the help he needed, but thats what happens. And really, this post doesn't have anything to do with eq, so yeah, wutever.
