Was just looking at both webpages. Does the same Owner or maybe taults owners friend run them both? They both have basically the exact same hmtl templates. Can someone fill me in on this? Thank you very much...
A confused tault subscriber..

The web format of this site changed to the same of Xunleashed, it used to be different. Sometime in the near future it will be the same site.

Tault and xUnleashed have been preparing to merge into one site for quite a while (before I joined). Maybe the new site will have smileys fixed (am I the only one who can't do smileys from the tray?). /gg atleast we have that to look forward to.

Probably so more people like me will get sick of waiting and cough up 25 bucks twice. I hope you'll offer a way for people with active paid accounts on both sites to be able to combine them into an extended sub. (ie. I have 11.5 months here, and 11 months there- hopefuly you'll let me convert that to 22.5 months on the new site. Esp. since requests on both sites for a cancelation/refund of one of the subs went unanswered).

Trust me, theres no sneaky business going on here. Its not exactly EASY moving 2 massive databases together without loosing information. I don't know how users with 2 prem accounts will get handled but i'm more than sure that you'll get the full benefit of paying twice.

sorry- not sure what was up my !@#$%^&* that day- I've been happy with both sites. I've built everal sites, manage a couple still, and have had to migrate more than one that included dynamic data (ie a forum). Knowing what a pita it was for me, I can only imagine how complex a merger would be...personaly, I think I'd just send my acctive members a voucher for a new site, and lock both old ones down rather than trying to merge them. Good luck =]

Aye, discoduck - that would seem to be the best possible solution. Just set up a new site with a coupon capability, and send a coupon code to all current members of either site. Each coupon code could be redeemed once to set up a free account for a year from the setup date, or however they wanted to handle it (have 1 year, 6 month, and 3 month codes. Send out 3 month if <3months left, 6 months if <6months and >3months, and send a 1year if >6months left).
I haven't seen the way that the data is currently setup, but it is still hard for me to understand why it has taken a year to get done...

it all comes down to how motivated the owners are to making this happen.
it shouldnt have taken more than 2 months even with the hick ups on the way.

Member info is the LEAST of our problems. We need to merge both forums into one, so we loose no data (posts, threads, etc). Originally the owners were going to do it them selves but they saw the massive work it would take so they've HIRED a programmer to do it for them. There have been several communication hiccups that have caused such a delay so far. Just hold tight.

Both forums appear to be phpbb forums - merging the data from two forums should be fairly trivial...
But then, what do I know?

Post on the phpbb boards and ask if there is a board merging tool....wouldn't it be funny if there was one all along?
