one good way to see if a mob is up is when in the same zone just type /ponder <mobs name> thats onle good for named mobs though...
if it says you ponder (then the mobs name) then its up
if it says you ponder . (nothing after ponder) then its not up
(thanks goes to: krytical)

I love this feature. Makes finding zone bosses easy when there are multiple instances of a zone for instance.
I'll add a little extra here just in case someone cares. Seems there's no need to know the full mob name.
You should use this with nothing targeted.
I've tested this with mobs I can see and see on tracking.
/ponder The
will ponder the first (alphabetical) mob with "The" in it's name. So, in a zone, you might ponder "The Blob" and see he's up but not see "The Sludge Creep" if he's also up in the same zone.
/ponder Wu
will ponder the first (alphabetical) mob with "Wu" as the beginning of it's name. You might see Wushu is up but not know that Wuugu is also up in the same zone.
In other words, there's some "auto-complete" used on the naming.
If you wanna test this, go to a city zone, find 2 guard with similar but different names, and /ponder away.
Not a new exploit, not entirely wonderful, but at least a little more helpful maybe?

How would you do this with a mob with spaces in the name?
say something like: a deadly lurker
It just ponders the first mob (or player) that begins with the letter a
I tried quotes and underscores, no luck.

I have had problems with multi-word mob names as well. For example, The Sludge Creep. If you type it in, it will give you a ponder of some other named mob/NPC. I will try to experiment a little.

I had trouble using the /ponder command to search for the named Orcs that room around the commonland. So what I did was place each name of the name orc in teh EQ2 Harvester as a resource. It does a little search and then sleeps if it doesnt find any.
Caution: If it does find one let it autopilot there on its own first. Then once you get there press teh stop button on the harvester window.
Also, if it doesn't find any of them also press the stop button if you are roaming around, because it will want to go back to that home position everytime.
Between this and the map, it helped me alot seak out named creatures.

I'd really like to figure out more on this one.
Specifically, names with spaces.
I've tried quotes, double quotes, back-tics, underscores, %20, and even using forward/back slashes to use as an escape code...i've tried any/all of these in several different combinations, and I've not been able to find the right one.
Anybody else working on this? Any way other than trial and error to tell?
This also brings up another question - regarding the radar script.
If i can /ponder a mob from across the zone, why can't radar see it?

the reason why ponder will work across the zone is that you are actually sending a ponder message to the server. this is why everyone around you will see you pondering said creature in their chat as well.

So we can /ponder, /wave which ever you fancy to a mob thats anywhere in the zone your in. Well surely theres got to be some sort of waypoint command that can lead you to the mob? Very unlikely I suppose but has anyone tried anything like this?

I bet I could add this back if there was enough demand for it.
