I am a mithra and i am almost to lvl 30. I would like to know which job would be better for a mithra, a dragoon or a dark knight. By better i mean which will help the party the most.

Well I'm new to tault but rusty as old to the game...I'm a DRG/DRK very unusal I know...But good...I get power attack bonus and Don't need magic so I can equip items that deduct from MP to help other STATS...yet I still get double the hit power...But for a mithra I would suggest DRK, U will need the DEX that your race has because DRK's hit and don't take the damage that they can give out..so the evasion bonus is a big up....But If you really like DRG do it like me....be RARE...DRG/DRK I'm on Pandimoneum (howeva u spell it) server If you would like to look me up I'm around...(and by the way everyone who says DRG/DRK is a n00b combo....come see me )

That depends spanky....If ur a mithra and a guide follower by religoin go with STR rings...if ur an elvaan or galaka u might wanna pick up those DEX rings....But if ur a taru...and lord knows ur not. (I hope) go with some expensive ATK/STR ^ rings

First off, DRG/DRK sucks. It's terrible. There are no benefits of DRG/DRK.
Two, if you really are a level 68 DRK [which I doubt] go level your subjob.

Well i picked DRG, and its not good. I have a serious problem, i miss. I miss a heck of a lot. I have +3 accuracy gloves, 2 balance rings, but i miss over and over and over. Most of the time I do the least damage in the party (exept for the whm). Also, a thief's normal attack most of the time does more than mine. I have the best equipment possible at lvl 18 and so I am confused. What do i need to do to hit more often? that would help a lot.

DRG is questionable. All the dragoons out there may disagree with me, but the fact is that the job's effectiveness is predicated on its wyvern, and if the wyvern dies the dragoon is SERIOUSLY hampered, almost to the point of complete ineffectiveness from a party standpoint. It doesn't get any of the latent abilities like Attack Boost or Defense Boost that the other combat jobs get, it has VERY limited equipment options, and can't use any kind of ranged attack unless it has a magical subjob.
DRK, on the other hand, does massive melee damage in almost all situations with the right gear. I'm an Elvaan DRK, and with two Balance rings and a focus on AGI and DEX plus items, I hit passably well. The enormous damage rate makes up for a miss here and there against most foes. There are of course drawbacks to the job, and a PLD is better solo than either, but with a good tank a DRK can cause monsters a great deal of discomfort. If you're a Mithra DRK, too, you can be fairly effective with the massive longbows, DRK can equip them.

macro you trippin, at upper levels your dragoon should never die by healing some of its life each fight with your own life instantly healed by your trusty whm. i have a drg in my static and she is insane...her sub is whm making her very useful. alot of damage from her + the wyvern and a heal from her activates a cure 3 from the wyvern...super sweet. got a drk in the static too, missing either is deffinitely noticeable because together those baddies don't last long. these are just things i've noticed, maybe i'm wrong...whatev

OK, kelek, I'll buy that. I don't see many DRGs that sub WHM, although I've just opened up the DRG job and mine's only at L12, at which level the wyvern hasn't begun curing with enough consistency for me so I generally sub THF for the DEX boost and evasion bonus. I'm wondering if subbing PLD might work when I get a bit higher for the balanced wyvern approach, but I can't claim to be sure. The only DRGs I have a lot of experience with were the L30ish guys I've levelled with in Kazham, and they were all offensive types that fit the pattern I've mentioned. Very strong offensively until Goblin bombs took out the wyverns, at which point the dragoons became a detriment--they really do lack special abilities with the wyvern gone, and can't keep up with even a WAR in damage rate on their own. But I'll have to get my own impression to be sure.
I am quite sure, tho, that my L31 DRK can dish out a whuppin under any and all circumstances, and with WHM subbed he becomes quite effective solo as well (though I still think the ultimate solo job is PLD/WHM or PLD/RDM at higher levels).
